A Tribute to my mother. My mother was born on December 26, 1916 and died on February 8, 2000 at 8:15 A.M. It Is difficult to capsulate what a person meant to you in one small paragraph. As a teacher, I teach my stuoems how to use adjectives to de scribe something about which they are writing. As I was thinking about my mother, these adiec fives came to mind: kind, loving, unselfish, self-sacrificing, fun, hard-working, energetic, intelligent, interesting, witty, and more.

My Mother was a Christian and her life truly exemplified a Christlike character. I know that my mother is now with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and I know that she is happier than she has ever been. As a Christian, I know that I will see her again. It is this promise that is helping to sustain me now, be cause I miss her more than words can express. One of the most precious gifts that God gives us is our memories.

I cherish those memories of my mother now. She grew up in a time when people took more time to make memories. I often asked my mother to tell me stories about her life. She was so happy that I was interested. I even made a tape of some of these.

I wish now fnat I had taped more. In this day and age we are so busy that we lust do not take time to realize what is important. With my mother's death I realize more than ever that we have no promise of tomorrow. I remember telling my mother that I loved her, but I am sure that I never told her enough. I know that mom knew that I appreciated all of the many things that she did for me, but I know that I did not adequately express my feelings in words.

So mom, I want to teH you now that I love you so very much. Thank you for always being there for me, but most of all thank you for sharing with me your faith in Jesus Christ. It is because you took the time to share your faith with me that I know that I will see you again. Love, Donna. Visitation will be at Swindler Currin Funeral Home in Independence from 4-8 P.M., Friday, February 11.
