McGURK The Cincinnati Enquirer We have seen the future of cartoons, and its name is Toy Story. Every frame of the 80-minute movie was created with computers, with astonishing depth, detail and grace of movement. man action figure Buzz Light-year voiced by Tim Allen, who doesn't know he's a toy and soon takes charge of the kids' room. Andy's old favorite, cowboy Woody (voice of Tom Hanks), acci-dently knocks Buzz out the window, and the rest of the story involves his race to get his rival back before Andy's family moves to a new house. Scary moments are ilillMIHIIlMV It advances all-digital imagery to a level of sophistication unimaginable a few years ago.

But razzle-dazzle alone does not make good movies.

For that, you still need imagination and wit qualities Toy Story has by the fistful. The story is based on the irresistible childhood fantasy that toys have an independent life when their owners' backs are turned. In this case, the toys of a kid named Andy and his baby sister are worried about being displaced by new birthday presents. Sure enough, Andy gets a space- voice cast dense with talent brings the toys' personalities to life. The crew includes a neurotic dinosaur (Wallace Shawn), a tough-talking Mr.

Potato Head (Don Rickles), a flirty Bo Peep (Annie Potts), plus a pompous piggie bank Gohn Ratzenberger) and a sympathetic Slinky dog (Jim Varney). From slapstick to a witty musical track by Randy Newman, Toy Story is a delight a laugh-a-minute-kid-die action flick that belongs on grown-ups' don't-miss list as well.
