Stanford Lee Vinson arrived as pastor of Rockdale Baptist Church in Avondale, his words to the congregation were, 'I came not to tear down, not to destroy, but to said a longtime member and neighbor, Joseph Moore of Columbia Township. "He united the congregation. He was a shepherd. He led his members," said Mr.

Moore, who is a deacon, treasurer and trustee at the church. The Rev. Mr. Vinson died from complications of a stroke Friday in Jewish Hospital Kenwood. The Silverton resident was 75.

In 1970, the Rev. Mr. Vinson was appointed pastor of Rockdale Baptist Church. Under his 26-year leadership, a new church was built, more buses were bought and a parking lot added. The church was completed in October 1995.

The Rev. Mr. Vinson was the second oldest in his family. When his father died, he assisted his mother as caretaker of the family. "We looked up to Stanford for being our provider, and he did it with such JULER Edward Thomas, M.D., father of Richard E.

"Bernie" Cahill, an Erlanger businessman and resident, died Monday in St. Elizabeth Medical Center South in Edgewood. He was 68. Mr. Cahill had managed the Kenton Lanes Bowling Alley in Erlanger from 1952 until 1971, when a fire destroyed the building.

He subsequently began a 23-year managerial partnership of the Dixie Club Cafe in Erlanger. "He was the most honest, nicest partner you could hope to have. We never had a cruel word between us," said his partner, Bill Maegly of Florence. Mr. Cahill enjoyed a day in his honor and the keys to the city of Erlanger upon his retirement May 21, 1995.

Surviving are his wife of 23 years, Sarah E. "Betty" Ferris Cahill; his mother, Florence M. Cahill of Florence; five KOTTER Marion beloved wife of the late Wilfrid J. Kotter, loving mother of Eileen R. He was 78 and formerly lived in Hyde Park. He was a graduate of Withrow High School, the University of Cincinnati and Hahnemann University Medical School in Philadelphia. Dr. Juler operated his eye, ear, nose and throat practice until he retired about nine years ago. After interning at Deaconess Hospital in Cincinnati, he began practicing with his father, Dr.

Luke Hospital East in Fort Thomas. He was 63. Dr. Wallace had taught at NKU for 15 years. He held undergraduate and graduate degrees from Indiana University in Bloomington.

He began his teaching career in Moo resville, and taught at Murray State University in Kentucky before joining NKU as chairman of the history department in 1981. Dr. Wallace was known for not only taking care of his own family, but of other families in need. His daughter, Stacy Wallace of Latonia, said her father sent toys to former students. He was a former member of the NKU Board of Regents and a member of the advisory commission for the Kentucky Council on Higher Education.
