Light, City Clerk Common Market Leaders Seek To Avoid Showdown BRUSSELS, Belgium (DPI) Common Market agricultural ministers returned to their cap- tals today for weekend consul- aliens, pessimistic over the chances for heading off a showdown between France and Germany on farm price policies. French President Charles de laulle has hinted that he will pull France out of the six-na- ion market unless a common arm policy is agreed on by Dec.

31. West German Chancelor Ludwig Erhard has refused to accept the French deadline. The dispute could mean the end of the six-nation trading )loc and set back progress on European unity. "It will be a miracle if we can finish the discussions by Dec. 31," Dutch Agricultural Minister Barend Biesheuvel Thursday.

The farm ministers spent the past week trying to hammer out common price and subsidy rules on beef, rice and dairy produce. Each of the countries now has its own rules. The agricultural talks will resume Monday, but few observers thought they would make much headway before the Com mon Market foreign ministers meet Wednesday. This conference had been planned to make final policy decisions on the farm question. Palmyra on December 13, 1963 Charles Herman, husband of FMri Oliver Raynes, aged 61 years.
