CINNAMON BUTTERMILK COFFEE CAKE 9 inch square pan ' . 18 pieces 325° preheated oven, 50-60 minutes 2 cups sifted flour 2 cupsfirmh/ 'packed light brown sugar, \4. cup, butter V4 cup sifted flour cup buttermilk tsp. soda tsp. cinnamon cup chopped . nuts . 'Mix flour and brown sugar. Cut butter in until the mixture resembles coarse, meal. Set aside* X cup of this mixture to be used for topping. To remaining flour mixture, add the # cup flour. Mix well. Then add egg, buttermilk, soda,-and cinnamon. Mix only until dry ingredients are well moistened. Pour into a buttered 9-inch square jian. Mix the % cup sugar mixture that was set aside and the chopped nuts and sprinkle over the top. Bake in a 325° preheated oven for 50-60 minutes. Turn batter into prepared pan, L'et rise in a warm place, free from draft, until doubled in bulk, about 1 hour and 15 minutes: Bake at 375° F. (moderate oven) about 35 minutes.
