Lady Rattlers grab first two wins BY MARK WILSON SPORTS EDITOR The Tolar girls are slowly getting healthier and even picked up their first two wins of the season over the weekend in the Glen Rose Lions Club basketball tournament. In the consolation bracket, the Lady Rattlers (2-6) defeated West, 45-36, for their first victory of the season, then beat Fort Worth Christian, 48-37, later in the day in their final game of the tournament. They had opened the tournament on Thursday with a 44-22 loss to Class 5A Burleson Centennial. Hannah Peregrino scored 33 and Meredith Caudle scored 27 points for Tolar in the tournament. Tolar girls coach Benita Carlton said she was glad they de- cided to go to the tournament, despite their severe shortage of healthy players caused by injuries and illness.

Coach David Pirates plowed through the three- day Classic at Boswell High School, taking down host Boswell on Saturday in the title game, 45-30. The Pirates moved into the state rankings Monday, at No.

23 in the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches Class 5A top 25 poll. Despite the remarkable run and unblemished record to this point, Breazeale prefers to be more realistic and said he focusing on the perfect record.
