A novelty number, "Capped Teeth and Caesar's Salad," and a bouncy bit, "I'm Very You, You're Very Me," provide nice breaks from the ballads. The Black-Webber songs evoke many moods and Webb executes them nicely without noticeable animation. She even manages to give a vampy touch to a number or two. She also has considerable TV credits in England. A SPECULATION ABOUT Dennis Janson getting the Job as Channel 12's new sports director heated up this week when the station announced Donn Burrows, of WKZO-TV, Kalamazoo, as a sports reporter.

Janson, current sports anchor, had been assisting Fred Wymore until the latter's firing in February. Burrows, once a Kalamazoo colleague of TV 12 weatherman Steve Deshler, begins April 21. Prior to Joining 'KZO two years ago, Burrows was on Flint, TV, served as business manager and play-by-play voice three months of the Indianapolis Wizards, All-America Basketball Alliance, handled radio sports at Albion, and was on cable TV at East Lansing. A Michigan State University graduate, Burrows Is from Detroit. Channel 22-Dayt on, Ohio BY STEVE HOFFMAN Enquirer TV-Radio Editor There will be a thoughtful, relaxing, romantic hour on television this weekend.

"Tell Me on a Sunday," a musical co-production of the British Broadcasting Co. and Metromedia Television, plays Channel 19 Saturday at 8 p.m. It's an unusual special but well worth your time. "Sunday" is a one-woman show consisting entirely of original music hardly typical television. Marti Webb is the English singer.

The London Philharmonic furnishes the music created by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Don Black. Webber composed the scores for "Jesus Christ Superstar" and "Evlta." Black's most famous number Is "Born Free." Webb's range and nasal sounds are reminiscent of Helen Reddy. However, the resemblance ends there. Webb Is not a physical singer. And, when need be, she can produce a much more fragile and light sound than Reddy.

WEBB PLAYS a 35-year-old English woman who has love affairs with four Americans. Black got the idea aboard a plane from a seven-hour conversation with a fellow Briton who had weathered similar emotional storms. Webb sings her songs In simple settings, virtually alone before a studio audience. Occasionally, the orchestra Is seen In the background or solo musicians are spotted up close. Rather than suggest drabness or cheapness, however, the light and dark settings Intensify the mood.

A single spotlight also contributes. Webb's songs have already been released as a Polydor LP titled Tell Me on Sunday; the title tune and "Take That Look Off Your Face" are soon to be released as singles. tT A avaasaaa aw a Banana m. jam mam. Taw.
