Weds Bancroft Man Helen R, McMahon of A«kiey» daughter of .the late Mr and Mrs Hugh McMaW ,of Algonfl, was married to Jqhn V. Long, ten of Mrs Dick Long of Bancroft, Feb. 7, in' St. Athanasius Catholic chureh irt Jesup,. Iowa. • ' The bride was attended by her sister', Mrs A. J. Romer, Jesup. as matron of honor, Dick O'Donnell, Lone Rock, mend of the bridegroom, actea as best man. ushers were Ray Merron and Charles Howard of Waterloo.. / A reception was held "at the Legion Hall in Jesup for the immediate families and a ' few friends. Mrs A. E. Jorgensen of Iowa City, acted as hostess. Lora Lee Jorgensert of Iowa City . had charge of the guest book. The wedding cake was cut by Mrs Ralph Thompson, Lone Rocfe, sister of' the briedgroom, and Mrs Fern Bailey, Iowa Falls, friend of the bride. Waitresses were Irene Coyle, St. Louis, Mo., Kay Hunt, Rockford, 111., Beverly Romer, Sioux- City, and LaVbnne, Thompson, L6ne Rock. Mrs Charles Howard, Waterloo, and Mrs Bert Brown, lewa Falls, were at the gift table. The bride .graduated from the Algona high school., attended Ellsworth College and Mankato State Teachers College, and is now teaching in the Ackley public school. The. bridegroom graduated from the Lone Rock public school, served three years in the U. :S. Army and is now employed by the John Deere Tractor Works in Waterloo. After a short wedding trip the couple will be at .home in Ackley. Silver Wedding Mr and Mrs Oran Hudson will observe their silver wedding anniversary Sunday, Feb. 15 in the Presbyterian church holding open house from 2 to 4 o'clock.- They came to Algona in 1942 and Mr Hudson has been employed since then with Bradley Bros. Mr and Mrs Hudson are parents of, four children, • (Janice) Mrs Richard' Lappin of Minneapolisr Minn;, Larry, ••Nancy „ and Inez Jane. Larry and Nancy are employed here and Inez Jane is of school age. ,,. '.
