HUPMOBILE PRESIDENT SEES AN EVEN BETTER 1927 BUSINESS Beautiful New Chevrolet Leads The Industry; And Offer A Car Beyond All Imagination Young Predicts 50 Per Cent. Increase in Sales i Over Record 1926 695 715 Coach (By Dubois Young, President of the Hupp Motor Car Corporation.) General business conditions throughout the country to-da'y are equally as attractive and promising as they were a year ago. I believe it will be generally agreed by economic experts that this country has never enjoyed a greater general prosperity than now. Bank deposits are at the hishest mark they liavo ever reached. Established industrial organizations added to their surplus almost without exception in 1J28 and are, generally, in an even stronger position than a year ago.

Railroads have iust concluded one of the best operating years in their history. In the light of what happened In 1926 In several lines of business, it seems safe to assume that with ordinary common sense and good judgment, 1927 will prove to be even better, in many respects, for the major- ity of established companies in most lines of business. I doubt whether there will be any serious overproduction. The lessons of the more recent past are still well the first signs of a buying rush "will result in abnormally large orders being hurriedly placed, giving rise to 8J opinion which may become general, that the success of the last several years will be overshadowed in 1927. We at Hupd do not -took for an abnormally good business, but wo da confidently expect the largest volume, by a substantial margin, that this company has ever The extent of business activities later in the year will again depend largely on the crop situation, crop prices, the attitude of Congress and general political outlook.

If these are favorable, there is every reason to expect that the year may be even better than in 1926. Tile automobile like any other large business, depends, of course, on the condition of the country generally to determine the extent of its activities. Should the farm situation show further improvement and should the political situation keep free from entangling itself with bupslness, there is every reason to Ijope that there will be a greater volume of business transacted in 1927, including the predicted further increase In exporting than ever before. 51 ET $595 Ill lir MMMMMMM remembered by most, As large organizations In all lines of business produced only sufficient, ilnrin; the last lllOlltllS of 1926, to I do not mean to infer that the business sky has only a rosy hue. We firmly believe there is a market for at least BO per cent, more Hupmoblles this year than were produced during our record year of 1926. Operations at the highest rate ever attained In our plants, are now ready to be carried out in' every division. Our distributors and dealers are anticipating from us the largest number of cars with which we have ever supplied them, and have their plans laid accordingly. There is conclusive evidence that we shall enjoy these gains botli in our six and eight-cylinder divisions.

From our studies of the momentous changes already taking place in motor ear buying in the field above $1,600, we are convinced that our possibilities In the eight-cylinder field are even greater than any of us dared Imagine two years ago. It Is a fact that the eight-cylinder car has been so simplified and made so efficient that it Is the logical choice for "the i-w-no 'can afford to Invest more than $1,500 or more in a motor car. The Hupp organization years ago set out to expand each year in a sensible, normal way whenever conditions warranted it, growing steadily and realizing fully that If it consistently built a product entitled to substantial public recognition, more and more people would buy It as knowledge of it continued to spread. In the rapid movement of business today many people are inclined to overlook or discount this fundamental business truth.
