Monday, THE LOS ANGELES TIMES JERUSALEM Israel has struck oil at a second well off El Tur on the Western shore of the Israeli-occupied Sinai Peninsula, it was disclosed Monday.

Energy Minister Yitzhak Modal said that the new well and one which was brought In November 26 will go Into production March 1. THE TWO wells together will produce about 10.000 barrels per day. Israel uses 140,000 barrels of oil a day. "If we had 10 or 12 wells producing the equivalent of the output of the first two wells, it would satisfy about a third of our annual requirement," Modal said.
