MONDAY, MARCH 1986 FIVE Bice Resident Dies Saturday James Solomon Parker, 84, native of Butler, long-time Navarro county resident, died at his home In Rice Saturday night. He was a retired sheetmetal worker and had resided at Rice 15 years. Parker had resided at Emhouse, Tupero and Rice since 1887. Funeral services were held Monday at 2 p.

m. from the Corley Chapel with burial In Oakwood cemetery. The rites were conducted by Rev. Kenneth Bass and Rev. Tom Griffin.

Surviving are his wife, the former Mary Ellen Stephenson to whom he was married Nov. 11, 1893, of Rice; three sons, J. L. Parker, Dallas; L. Parker, Bearie, Ohio, and D.

E. Parker, Port Worth; a. daughter, Mrs. M. Neale, Al- hambrla, five granddaugh 1 ters, two'grandsons, seven great grandsons, three brothers Frank Leonard Parker, Santa Maria, Gary Lee Parker, Minnesota, and Samuel Stephen Parker, Corsicana; two sisters, Mrs.

Fannie Delona Rawson, Corsicana, and Eunice Lavada Waggoner, Truth Consequences, N. and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Pallbearers were Roy Gowan, T. Gowan, Clarence Mahaley, John Bowden, Milton Douglas and rln Gilbert. Corley directed.

Grady Christie RiEes Are Held Funeral rites for Grady B. Christie, 42, dirt contractor, who died of 'a heart attack Saturday morning, were held Sunday at 5 m. from the Corley Chapel. Burial was in the Hamilton cemetery. Rev.

W. T. Allmon, Hubbard, pastor of the Cedar Creek Baptist church at Pickett, conducted the rites. He was a life-long resident of Navarro county. Surviving are his wife, a son, Elton Christie; two brothers, Coy and J.

W. Christie, all of Corsicana; three sisters, Mrs. Millie Brannon and Mrs. Odera Henson, both of Corsicana, and Mrs. Pauline Fowler, Houston, and a number of other relatives.

Nephews were pallbearers. Arthur A. Helton Services Sunday Funeral services for Arthur A. fe Melton, 38, city bus driver, who died Friday night at the Corsicana Hospital and Clinic, were held from the West Side Baptist church Sunday at 3 p. with the pastor, Rev.

Jack Goff, in charge. Burial was in the Hamilton cemetery. Surviving are his wife, two sons, Larry and Frederick Melton; a daughter, Brenda K. Melton; 'parents, Mr. and Mrs.

A. A. Melton, two sisters, Mrs. W. D.

Burnett and Mrs. Jack Gibbs, all of Corsicana; grandmother, Mrs. E. E. Frazier, Palestine, and other relatives.

Pallbearers wore S. Brashear, Roy R. Jones, Roy Graham, Earl Norwood, Weldon Morrison and Raymond Danforth. Corley directed. R.

0. Hiding Rites Are Held Sunday Funeral rites for Robert Owen Huling, 22, of Emhouse, who died at Memorial Hospital Friday morn- lng, were held from the Corley Chapel Sunday at 3:30 Burial was in the Pattison cemetery at Emhouse. w. The services were conducted by Rev. Van P.

ROAD ENGINEER DIES FORT WORTH, March 5 (INS) services will be held in Fort Worth Tuesday for John Arthur Elliot, 69, district engineer and department head for the U.S. Bureau of Public Roads who died Saturday night.

Former Resident Dies Saturday Albert Alderman, about 80, former Corsicana resident, died of a heart attack while visiting relatives in Philadelprla, Saturday noght. Former Texan Dies In Bahrein NEW Paul Barnett, 40, native of Wichita Falls and a former New York newspaperman, died of a heart attack Friday on the island of Bahrein In the Persian Gulf. For three years he was assistant editor on the cable desk of the Herald Tribune. He resigned in December, 1947, t6 join the American military government in Germany. He was publicity director for the Bahrein Petroleum Co. when he died.

Barnett Is survived by his widow, Maria; his mother, Mrs. Leta Barnett of Wichita Falls, and his brother, James, vice president of the Wichita Falls Record-News.
