MIRROR OF THE CITY UC Man In Mental Research Dr. Josef Warkany, professor versity of Cincinnati College of scientists to accept membership visory, Word Board on Mental Retardation, of his appointment National Association for Retarded Children, was received here yesterday by the Hamilton County Council for Retarded Children. Dr. Warkany, who is associated also with the Children's Hospital Research Foundation, will work under Dr. Grover T.

Powprofessor emeritus of pediatrics, Yale University, WARKANY WARKANY who is chairman of NRAB. The Board was established to further advancement of study, research and in the field of mental retardation. Establishment of the board marks the launching of the first comprehensive scientific research program in the mental retardation field. Under it, existing research will be supported, new projects will be undertaken, scientific information will be collected and disseminated and qualified persons will be given support if they wish to do research in the field. More than 100 Cincinnati children are enrolled in seven special classes for the mentally retarded.

It was proven early yesterday, however, that the static rhythm of the bongo drum has little effect on the vice squad. Robert Carwell, 24, 906 Hopkins musician, was arrested early yesterday at the Cotton Sixth and Mound after the vice squad received a tip that he was selling marijuana. Detectives found Carwell playing the bongo drum in the orchestra. The officers waited for Carwell to finish the number.

He played on. Police waited. After an hour Carwell became tired and stopped. Police moved in. Police said Carwell had A number of benzedrine tablets on his person.

A "handful" of marijuana was found in his room yesterday, they added. Carwell is being held on drug charges. TV Show Gets Hot!
