Two-way Traffic on Commercial Reno Traffic Enginner Frank Capshaw said Friday Commercial Row from Sierra Street to, Arlington Avenue has been opened to two-way traffic. The street has been for oneway traffic going east for several years. The change was requested by the city council. Capshaw said one of the biggest concerns was the location of the city fire station at Commercial Row and West Street. Prior to allowing two way traffic, Capshaw said, fire engines were permitted to exit from the station in an easterly direction only.

"They can now go west to Arlington where they could only go east before," the traffic engineer said. Earlier, the city council au- thorized two-way traffic on Third Street from Sierra Street to Arlington Avenue for the first time in several years. White Pine Picnic Slated The White Pine Picnic, an annual outing in which former residents of White Pine County now living in the Reno, Sparks and Washoe County area get together, is scheduled Sunday, Aug. 21, at 1 p.m. at Virginia Lake.

Announcement of the affair was made recently by Bob Klaich, chairman of this year's outing. "This will be the 18th consecutive get-together for the former residents of Ely, Ruth, McGill, Kimberly, Lund and so on," said Klaich. Vital Statistics Births BROWN-In Reno, Aug. 11, 1966, to Mr. and Mrs.

The first session will be here Tuesday, with a repeat program set for Las Vegas the next day, Abbott said.

Veterans Training Approved Veterans desiring too use the G.I. bill this year may select from any of the 18 Reno City Business College courses recently approved for veterans training by the Nevada State Department of Education. In addition to the full-time, year-long a programs, courses of shorter duration may now be eligible for the G.I.

bill. Included in the new courses approved is a program for students wishing to attend the Uni-, versity of Nevada as special students. Under this schedule, six credit hours may be taken at the Univerisity of Nevada while also attending the city college taking non-credit courses in math and English. These courses are designed to prepare students to pass the entrance tests for admission as a regular student in the spring. Along with math and English, electives such as typing and notetaking are also available.

A new catalog outlining the courses approved for G.I. train-. ing is now available at the Reno City Business College, California and Lander, Reno. 700 Licenses Still Unpaid Chief License Inspecor Robert Beaman said Friday about 700 Reno city business licenses remain unpaid, and he warned operators a 10 per cent penalty fee will be added to any not paid by Aug. 31.

Letters to this effect were sent out Wednesday by Beaman's office. "The end of the month is the deadline," he said. After Aug. 31, Beaman said, businessmen are technically "operating without a license and subject to legal proceedings after that date." Beaman said the issuance nearly 40 licenses have been held up because those firms have delinquent sewer fee accounts. He said city statute prevents those firms from being 1s- sued a license until the sewer charge is paid.

The penalty on late sewer bills is 15 per cent. "I have called a good many of them on the phone," Beaman said, "and the ones couldn't reach I have sent letters to."
