Oct. 23 UP) lianjing Bob Bauman, off the shelf only two weeks, smashed over for a couple of touchdowns in leading his Missouri teammates to a 32-14 Big Seven victory over Iowa State today. The win kept the Tigers very much in the running for an Orange Bowl bid. Bauman, Missouri's fullback blocking specialist, injured in the first game of the season, but back in action last week to spark the Tigers to a 20-14 victory over Indiana, crashed over from the one-yard line in the second and from the four in the third period. Apparently fully recovered from injuries suffered in the Purdue game, Bauman blocked and punched brilliantly as the Missourians moved to a 20-0 halftime lead then traded touchdowns with the outmann Cyclones in the last two quarters.

Bataela 3-3294 Al'DREI MARTIN AT THE PIANO i X-" tmeTtTtVV 4 vgsi Mean's Srauhts ATHENS, Ohio, Oct. 23 With a zeal that was almost but not quite completely relentless, Miami University remained undefeated here today by slapping Ohio University, 46-13, on the occasion of the Bobcats' sesqui-centennial home-coming. The Redskins had made It no secret that they expected the game to accomplish some measure of "revenge" for the 7-7 tie with the same team which wing the Mid-American Conference crown to Ohio on a percentage basis last year. Today's contest was regarded as decisive in the conference, although the Redskins still must meet Western Michigan in their home-coming game at Oxford next Saturday.

If the Redskins let up at all, it was a defensive letup after their first touchdown and again in the third quarter, when the Bobcat's tallied their only touchdowns on quarterback Bill Frederick's passes of three yards to Dave Lundberg and 31 to Walter Gawronski. Miami marched from the opening kickoff, 56 yards in six plays, Bobby Wallace scoring from the seven. A fumble set Michigan State had an edge in the rushing g-ame, collecting 194 yards to 151 for Purdue, and also had a 24-16 edge on first downs. The defeat marked the first time that Michigan State had lost as many as four games in a 5-5 won-lost record in 1946. Purdu Michigan State 6 0 7 37 013 Purdue Touchdowns, Zrzda.

The lopsided triumph cleaned up some old business that had rankled the Navy for the long time.

It was the first time since 1945, when a Penn transfer, Skippy Minisi, did the trick, that Navy had been able to win at Franklin Field. Although Joe Gattuso, a powerful fullback, accounted for two touchdowns and made a couple of important tackles, it was a team victory with few outstanding Individual performances. Navy, in winning, looked as good as or better than any team In the East. Penn, losing its fifth straight game, came up with the one big individual feat of the game, Stan Chaplin's 79-yard runback of a kickoff for Perm's only score. Navy, starting unsteadily and tossing away several scoring opportunities early in the game, hit its peak in the third quarter.

Taking advantage of the breaks and some good passing by George Welsh, Navy made three touchdowns in less than six minutes. A platoon of substitutes accounted for two more touchdowns in the last quarter. JJ I 0 1J-BJ Pennsylvania 6 0 0 0 Kar acorinr Touchdowns w.l.h worth, Cattuao 1. Smith. Beetle.
