Price MORELAND Edwin Price. 69, of Moreland died Wednesday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center after a short illness. Born Jan. 7. 1931, in Lincoln County, he Price was son of the late Estil and Eva Merriman Price.

He was a retired mech-anic at ATR and a former employee of Farmers Tobacco Warehouse and Whitehouse and Humphrey Farm Machinery. He was an Air Force veteran having served in the Korean War. He was a member of Rocky Ford Masonic Lodge and a deacon of Moreland Christian Church. Survivors include his wife, Virginia Beeler Price; a daughter, Cheryle Ursprung of Moreland; a sister, Louise Bowles of Lexington; and four grandchildren. Services will be 2 p.m.

Saturday at Moreland Christian Church by the Rev. David Smith. Burial will be in Hustonville Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John White, Roy Russell, Waitman Beeler, Anthony Beeler, Brian Beeler and Todd Wilson. Honorary pallbearers are Billy Myers, Dale Ashcraft and deacons and elders of Moreland Christian Church.

Visitation is after 4 p.m. Friday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home and after 10 a.m. Saturday at the church. Memorials may go to the church building fund.

Kathleen M. DeRossett LEXINGTON Kathleen M. DeRossett, 70, of Lexington died Tuesday. Born in Harrodsburg, she was a daughter of the late Dewey and Myrtle Coker Mobley. She was a retired clerk stenographer with the Postal Service and a member of Rosemont Baptist Church and the Sweet Adeline's.

Survivors include her husband, Bruce G. DeRossett; a son, Michael DeRossett of North Middletown; a daughter, June Virgen of Nicholasville; five brothers, Ernest and Garnett Mobley, both of Harrodsburg, and Minor Mobley of Dublin, Hanley Mobley of Mercer County and Howard Mobley of Cornishville: two sisters, Cornett Reynolds of Harrodsburg and Joyce Britton of Cornishville; a caregiver, Vickie Hamm; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Services will be 11:30 a.m. Friday at W.R. Milward Mortuary-Southland by Byron Jessup.

Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation is after 5 p.m. today. William H. Goatley SPRINGFIELD William Hubert Goatley, 82, of Lebanon Road died Tuesday at Spring View Hospital.

Born July 15, 1917, in Washington County, he was son of the late Edward S. and Myrtle Virgin Goatley. He was a member of Springfield Baptist Church, an Army veteran of World War II, a member of Springfield Mason Lodge 50 a Royal Arch Mason and a former member of the Springfield Fire Department where he had been chief. He was a retired employee of the Springfield Water and Sewer with 30 years of service as superintendent. He also served as a weather observer for the National Weather Service.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy Homan Barr Goatley; a son, Greg Goatley of Springfield; two daughters, Billie Reynolds of Lawrenceburg and Mickie Hayes of Danville; a stepdaughter, Janine Stubblefield of Springfield; a stepson, Jack Barr of Versailles; a sister, Thelma VanArsdall of Springfield; eight grandchildren; two step grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Christine "Tootsie" Goatley, a granddaughter and a step granddaughter. Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Springfield Baptist Church by the Rev. Clay Stevens.

Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Visitation is 3-9 p.m. today with a Masonic service at 8:30 p.m. at Carey Son Funeral Home and after 8 a.m. Friday.

Memorials may go to Springfield- County Rescue Squad. Mann Phillips, 84, of North East Street, formerly of Junetion City, died today at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. Born June 19, 1916, in Prestonsburg, she was a daughter of the late Charles P. and Nancy Spradlin Mann. She was a former owner and operator of Slo's Restaurant in Junction City.

She was a member of Junction City First Baptist Church and the widow of Ralph W. "SloMotion" Phillips. Survivors include four sons, Ross Phillips of Lexington, Tom Dick Phillips of Harrodsburg, David Phillips of Warsaw, and Chuck Phillips of Junction City; three daughters, Nancy Cornish of Harrodsburg, Ruth Whyde of Indianapolis and Rita Isham of Harrodsburg; a brother, Charles P. Mann Jr. of Warsaw, a sister, Venus Dixon of Warsaw; 19 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Nicholas, Hunter, Ray and Robbie Phillips, Ryan Coatney, Leigh Lance, Heath and Larry Whyde Jr. Funeral arrangements are incomplete. Burial will be in Danville Memorial Gardens. Elsie M. Phillips HARRODSBURG Elsie Violet Vaughn LIBERTY Violet Vaughn, 91, of Russell Springs died Tuesday at her home.

Born June 1, 1909, in Casey County, she was a daughter of the late Joseph F. and Sarah Bell Henson. She was a retired Boyle man dies from hanging LEBANON The death of a Boyle County inmate Tuesday in the Marion County Detention Center has been ruled as an apparent hanging, authorities said. The body of Edgar Martin "Junie" Strevels, 52, of Parksville was found hanging from the air conditioning vent by a bed sheet, according to Marion County Deputy Jailer Charlie Osborne. Osborne said he was passing breakfast trays to inmates about 4 a.m.

when he found Strevels in Isolation Cell 134. After radioing for help, Osborne said he held Strevels up until help arrived. Strevels was lowered to the ground after the deputies had cut the sheet. After checking for a pulse and noting the cold temperature of the skin, the deputies called Lebanon police and the coroner. Deputy Coroner Dick Moraja pronounced Strevels dead from an apparent hanging.

Strevels was in isolation at his own request and was not employee of Batesville a member of Russell Order of Eastern Star and och Christian Church. She the widow of Ola Vaughn. Survivors include her Wayne Vaughn of Springs; four stepsons, Preston and Melvin Byrd, Indiana, and Addis Byrd of da; a stepdaughter, Fogel of Indiana; a brother, ston Henson of Dunnville; sisters, Adell Smith of Springs, Lela Patton of City and Hattie Hudson of nville. Services will be 1 p.m. at McKinney-Brown Home by the Rev.

Strevels Jr. Services for Edgar Martin "Junie" Strevels 52, of Parksville, will be 1 p.m. Friday at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home by the Revs. Keith Willoughby and Don Drake. Burial will be in Parksville Cemetery.

He died Tuesday in Marion County. Born March 17, 1948, in Boyle County, he was a son of Edgar and Reva Presley Strevels of Parksville. He was a member of Alum Springs First Church of God. Survivors include a son, Mark Freeman of Harrodsburg; a daughter, Kimberly Stinnett of Harrodsburg; two sisters, Judy Devine of Danville and Doris Logsdon of Stanford; two brothers, Larry Strevels of Danville and Marvin Rousey of Naples and a companion; Modene Asbury of Junction City. Pallbearers will be Ira Pendygraft, Junior Pemberton, Jason Gilpin, Andrew Warner, Jason Strevels and Larry Strevels Jr.

Visitation is 6-9 p.m. today. Emery L. Wilson STANFORD Services for Emery Lee Wilson, 91, of Logan Avenue will be 2 p.m. Friday at Spurlin Funeral Home by the Rev.

Jim Lynn. Burial will be in Buffalo Springs Cemetery. He died Tuesday at University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center. Born Jan 26, 1909, in Carlisle, he was a son of the late Edgar F. and Pearl Steward Wilson.

He was involved in tobacco insurance and sales until his retirement in 1992. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the European Theater. He also served in the Kentucky General Assembly 1958-1960. He was deacon emeritus at Stanford Christian Church. Survivors include his wife, Catheryne Wilson; a son, Dr.

Emery A. Wilson of Lexington; a sister, Lutie Layson of Millersburg; and two grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Charles Sallee, K.R. Gordon, Tom Powers, Ottis Cave, Lewis Nunnelley, Clyde Austin, Donald Cain and Harold Kelley. Visitation is 6-8 p.m.

Strevels was serving time for driving under the influence, fourth offense, and was scheduled to be released from jail later this month. Emery L. Wilson of Stanford, Kentucky died Tuesday, July 4, at the age of 91.

A native of Carlisle, Kentucky, Mr. Wilson was involved in tobacco insurance and sales until his retirement in 1992. Mr. Wilson was a veteran of World War II, serving in the European theatre. He also served in the Kentucky General Assembly from 1958-1960.

He was deacon emeritus at the Stanford Christian Church. Mr. Wilson is survived by his wife, Catheryne; a son, Dr. Emery A. Wilson and daughter-in-law Clara of Lexington; two grandchildren, Dr.

Emily Wilson Cunningham and husband Dr. Larry Cunningham of Dallas, Texas and Captain Bryan D. Wilson and wife Mary Leigh of Oceanside, California; and a sister Mrs. Lutie Layson of Millersburg, Kentucky. Funeral Services will be at Spurlin Funeral Home in Stanford on Friday, July 7, at 2:00 p.m.
