to my leg," he said, "because sometimes I have to cuss at it." The doctor explained to Cosgrove that messages from his brain to his legs are slower now than before and the best way to get his leg to move is to talk to it. "And I do talk to it," Cosgrove said. "People must think I'm crazy when they see me standing there telling my leg to walk. But someday I'm going to walk just as straight as anybody." Meanwhile, Cosgrove says all he has it time, and all that time is being devoted to others. "Life is so fast people don't have time for anything.

But I have time to do good for people worse off than I am." Cosgrove's approach to helping others is strictly emotional. "Being forgotten by the world is the worst thing that can happen to anybody," said Cosgrove, "so I take people less fortunate than I am and write them letters, or call them on the phone, just to let them know they are not forgotten." Much of Cosgrove's time is spent talking to prisoner-of-war wives in the area and writing letters to others across the country. "Their problem right now is emotional. All I do is try to ease the tension a little," he said. i i 1 P.
