Shierk's court here 'this week. Women Voters Slate Meetings With Candidates The Algona League of Women Voters is holding a non-partisan candidate meeting Oct. 25. This meeting has .been scheduled for 8 p.m. at the Algona High School Annex as follows: Oct. 25 — Speaker — Max Soeth, Republican, candidate for Iowa Senate. John Brown, Democratic candidate for this office, will be unable to attend. A discussion of the party platform will follow this meeting. Candidates for Kossuth county offices have been invited and the public is cordially invited to attend the meeting, first time vo- ,ters are urged to attend and obtain instruction in voting procedure and marking the ballot. Fractures Knee Mrs Luella Baker of Algona was taken to St. Ann hospital Oct. 6 after she fell and fractured a knee. Mrs Baker was on her way to a meeting at the Congregational church when she turned her ankle and fell on the sidewalk. She continued to the church, then was taken to the hospital for treatment. The leg will be placed in a cast later. Safety Patrol Students who participate in the Safety Patrol at Algona schools were given a special training course last week by W. R.
