MINI-SPORT PICKUP, VAN RV CAVALLINO STEEL-BELTED RADIAL TIRES LOW PRICES! TIRES FOR IMPORT SMALL CARS BY BILL FORD Enquirer Sporti Reporter BLOOMINGTON, you don't believe In miracles, you won't believe the football the Redskins of Miami play.

The Redskins pulled another of their shockers against the Big Ten on this cloudy Saturday In a 21-20 stunner over heavily-favored Indiana on the strength of a touchdown and a perfect placeklck by a walk-on freshman in the last 13 seconds. But even before 5-foot 8 Tom Kruus fled from the bench to produce the decisive point from placement, the crowd of 28,732 was convinced their startled Hooslers had been victimized by some force other than mere mortal. HOW ELSE, they had to ask, could those small Ohloans treat a muscular Indiana line with such utter contempt when only a week earlier large and reputable Louisiana State could not? How else could Miami squeeze 'two touchdowns Into an Incredible 13-second span In the first quarter, getting one on a fumbled ktckoff Into the end zone? How else could Miami cut off slick passer Scott Arnett with only five completions In 15 attempts. How else could Miami, having been put into the hole with Just two minutes, 27 seconds to play on Ar-nett's scoring scoring pass to tight end Dave Harangody, storm from Its 41-yard-llne to the decisive point? "I'll tell you," said Larry Fortner, the Junior quarterback who engineered the winning drive so Judiciously he put 15 plays Into the last 2:14, "we felt on the sidelines we could move against 'em. "WE WORK and work on that two-minute drll and I'm saying we can move it." Sure, Larry, If the Redskins could move so well, how come they didn't score a point the second and third quarters and for 14:47 of the fourth quarter? That's 44 minutes, 47 seconds without a point? "Well, we hurt ourselves a fumbles.

Look, when you get Inside 30 you should come out with sort of score. We didn't because of ourselves, the fumbles." In the decisive march downfield, Fortner splendidly mixed his passing with some critical runs, getting to, the Indiana 14. Trouble was, he had only 55 seconds from there and the Redskins had exhausted ther three time outs. A FORTNER run and a pass meant a first down at the three and an incomplete pass stopped the clock. When play resumed, Fortner saw sure-fingered Steve Joecken just over the goal and threw.

From nowhere, defender Dave Abrams closed In on Joecken and the ball dropped harmlessly to the ground. But hold on! Interference against Abrams. "I didn't think It was interference" said Abrams. "But if I didn't Hit him (Joecken) It was a touch- down." That gave the Redskins a first down at the one and on the next play, fullback Kaiser Holman rammed It home. "The biggest touchdown of my TIRES FOR IMPORT SMALL CARS life," gasped Holman, who has carried the football only 12 times this season, for 31 yards, but three of them have been scoring trips.

"The line did a great blocking." HOLMAN'S stab only tied the game. The kick wa the vital Item now and It was all up to the 160-pound Kraus. Fall football practice was more than two weeks old when the freshman from Fairvlew Park, Ohio, asked the coach Dick Crum tf he could try out for the team. Kraus made the roster, kicked off in the Dayton game (remember that miracle finish when Fred Johnson kicked the winning field goal In the last five stayed at home on last week's trip to South Carolina but was promoted to the traveling squad earlier In the week when he beat out Johnson. It appeared the Hooslers were going home early when they drove 73 yards to a touchdown with the opening klckoff, Arnett catching Miami's remade defense off guard with an option run around left end for a 13-yard touchdown run.

The Miami defense bent a little that time, but for the rest of the way it. withstood the best from the Hooslers even tailback Darrlck Burnett who ran for 209 yards on 29 carries. ONCE, ARNETT slipped through the Miami defense for an 89-yard run to the six before Jeff Buchanan hauled him down. Surprisingly, after that breathtaking run the Hooslers ran the 182-yard tailback three straight times. He lost a yard in the series and David Freud kicked a field goal from 24 yards to bring the Hooslers to within 14-13.

Those 14 Miami points came about on sweat and blood. Fortner drove them 86 yards In 14 plays for one touchdown, the payoff a five-yard burst up the middle by Mark Hunter. The second resulted on the kick-off. Kraus kicked deep to Jerry Bowers, who then fumbled. When he recovered, freshman Kirk Springs Jarred him so hard at the five, the ball popped out of his hands and rolled into the end zone where Kent McCormick, another rehsman on the specialty team, fell on It for a touchdown.
