The beginners include Maria Cink, Dwight Dornhior, Teresa Eisenbacher, Mary Kathleen Haverly, Joann Hrubes, Patrick Hughes, James Kollasch, Danny K u n k e 1, Beverly Laubenthal Virginia Mtiehe, Franklin Rasmussen, Andrew Reising, Mark Richter and Dale Studer. The faculty of St. Joseph's school attended a meeting of grade teachers ot St. Joe, Whittemore, St. Benedict, Algona and Wesley parochial schools at Gar- rignn high school at Algona Wednesday. The meeting was preceded by a luncheon. Several To Convents Hose Ann and Mary Hildman, daughters of Mr and Mrs John Hildman, have returned to Milwaukee, Wis. to the Aspinancy of the Sisters of St. Francis Assisi. They will again attend St. Mary's Academy where Rose Ann will be a junior and Mary a sophomore. Helen Lickteig, daughter 6f Albert Lickteig and the late Rose Lickteig will leave soon for Milwaukee, where she will enter the Postulate of the Sisters of St. Francis of Assisi. She will attend Cardinal Stritch College there. She is a 1960 graduate of Garrigan, Algona. Janice Lickteig, daughter ot Mr and Mrs Urban Lickteig, and Janet Goetz, daughter of Mr and Mrs Philip Goetz, will enter Sisters of the Presentation Order at Mt. Loretto convent in Dubuque. Janice left September 7 but Janet will remain at home until after the Sept. 10 wedding of her brother, Earl Goetz to Carol Kime at Austin. Minn. Both young ladies are 1960 graduates of Garrigan, Algona. Auxiliary Met The American Legion Auxiliary held their annual membership party Sept. 1. At the business meeting Edna Thbm, president, announced that the District Conference would be held at Denison Sept. 11. Clair Thomas, secretary reported on the county meeting held at Burt Aug. 4 She, Rita Youngwirth and Hazel Gerdes attended. Edna Flom and Clair Thomas attended a school of Instruction, at Ledyard recently. Mrs Flom held a school of Instruction at her home Tuesday evening, Sept. 6. Mrs Jo Meurer won the free membership. A pot luck lunch was served by Myrtle Lease, Hazel Gerdes, Nyla Newbrough and Louisa Becker. 500 was played. Helen Johnson and Vic Studer won high and low score prizes. Gets Army Discharge Mrs John Youngwirth, Mr Carol Goetz, arrived here Aug. 25 from Germany where she had been 15 months with her husband who was stationed at an army basei She is at the parental Joe. Goetz home. John Youngwirth left Germany Aug. 27 by ship for the States and is to ily to Fort Sheridan, 111. where he will get 'his discharge. ,Mr and Mrs Dean Ricke, who have occupied the Youngwirth bouse moved last week into the Victor Loebig house which he lately purchased from Ed Hynes. Mrs Will MarUnek spent Wednesday in the Brut hospital undergoing tests and x-rays. The Clarence, Marvin and Everett Ackersons attended the wedding Saturday of their 'nephew and cousin Darrcll Ncm- mers and Ethel Ricke at Bancroft. The bride is a daughter of Mr and Mrs Roman Ricke, former Wesleyans. Mr and -Mrs Lester Larson visited Mrs Penn Eckels at a Rochester, Minn, hospital Aug. 24 and had supper with.Mrs Ida Funnemark at Zumbrota, Minn. Rev. Roy Thompson of Minneapolis was guest speaker in the Evangelical Free church Aug. 28. Mr and Mrs Clarence Ackerson report a new great-grandson Monte Ray born to Mr and Mrs Dennis Long of Estherville. Mrs Oscar Johnson entered the Britt hospital Aug. 30 and had surgery Sept. 1. Mr and Mrs. Lester Larson visited his mother, Mrs Peter Larson at Clarion Aug. 28. A group of relatives enjoyed a picnic at the Halvor Flom Jr. home Aug. 28. Guests were the Paul McNeils of Algona, Wallace an.d Kenneth Donovans of Spirit Lake, Stanley Simpsons and Frank Johnsons. The family gathering honored Mr and Mrs Dale Knapper and daughters of West Sacramento, Calif, who have been visiting her mother, Mrs Ruth flohnson of Britt and other relatives, ivir and Mrs Art Larson- and Tommy of Buffalo Center were afternoon "callers. Mr and Mrs Leo Yanick and children of Dearborn, Mich, were houseguests of ihe Harold Weber's the past week. They also visited an aunt Mrs Louisa Seimer and Leona Seimer and the Clarence Seimers at Algona., Mr and Mrs Anton Pearson and Mr and Mrs Stanley Simpson spent several days last week fishing in northern Minnesota. The Harold Webcrs and the Luke Youngwirths . drove to Lohrville Aug. 28 and visited the former pastor, Father William Buchholz and housekeeper, Cecile Nabor. Mr and Mrs Bernard Kunkel and Mr and Mrs Joe Miller attended the wedding of a niece Bonnie Spangler, daughter of Mr and Mrs Kenneth Spangler and Terry Manly at danesville, Minn, recently. Mr and Mrs L. L. Lease attended the wedding of a nephew James Gesme, son of Mr and Mrs Ed Gesme, and Dorothy Dahl at the Lutheran church at Lake Mills Sept. 4. Mrs Vincent Kleinpeter left Sept. 2 for Marcos, Calif., where she will join her husband, who has been there 6 months., and is in the real estate business. Their 3 sons are now in San Diego. They are Larry and family, Don and Dean. . ' Arnold Lallier and children moved last week from the Ferstl farm north of town to Algona where they are living with his mother, Mrs Mary Lallier. Mrs L. Algona, were hold today (Tuesday) at Council Bluffs. Burial was at Calvary cemetery here. Mrs Zach succtimber following a lingering illness in a Council Bluffs hospital during the Tuesday, Sept. 13, 1960 Atgona (la.) Upper Des Moines-3 week end. Born at Emmetsburg, Mrs Zfich attended school hen 1 and had been n resident of Council Bluffs for the past 27 years. Besides Mrs Lnmpright. she is survived by her husband, a daughter.
