EASTON BOY SCOUT WEEK FEPPinv 7" rv" Editor Easton Star-Democrat Easton. Maryland Dear Sir: Please permit me to reply to our friend.

II. W. Harrison, whose letter re the proposed Chesapeake Bay Bridge appears in this weeks issue. It is obvious to all Mary landers that the bridge is a vital "must" for the development, not alone of Eastern Maryland, but for the Middle Atlantic States. Since the rain falls on the just and the unjust alike, a few disreputable characters may travel East on this proposed bridge, with the possibility that as many may travel West, but in any event, for each one of these characters there will be, at least, 99 good honest American citizens who will be traveling the same roads at the same time.

Should, also, not the land locked commercial man, and industrialist, upon whom so much depends, be given access to the shores of these United States. Respectfully yours, W. O. HERRIDGE LOCAL SEA SCOUT TROOP INSPECTED BY SKIPPER James E. Shorts, Del-Mar-Ya Council Sea Scout Director, Conduct Inspection The Sea Scout Ship, Tred Avon, was inspected last week by Skipper James E.

Shorts, director of Sea Scouting for the Del-Mar-Va Council Boy Scouts of America. This Inspection is based on the performance and activities of the Sea Scout Unit and determines the rating for the ensuing year. This was the first inspection for the local unit, which has become very active during the past year. Recently they aqulred new quarters and are now redecorating. The highlight of the evening was the announcement by Skipper Shorts that the Council, through cooperation of the U.

S. Navy, has acquired for the local unit a 27-foot whale boat, complete with a sail rig. The Sea Scouts also had their first social affair of the year which consisted of a theatre party, followed by dancing and games at the home of Skipper and Mrs. John Kyle. ST.

TWO THOUSAND KILLED CROWS One hundred and twenty sportsmen left Easton on Wednesday of last week to shoot crows at Poplar Island. The day was ideal for the occasion, and about 2,000 crows were slaughtered. Sportsmen from all sections of the Eastern Shore of Maryland and Delaware as well as rrom Baltimore participated. They had an unusually fine day for the sport, and returned home late at night convinced that they made but a very small dent into the crow population of Poplar Island.

FINDS WARM SPOT Mrs. W. D. Brinckloe has a verv fine kitten of which she is very fond. The kitten disappeared for two or three days, and it could not be found anywhere.

Pete Dillon was called in to hunt for the animal. and arter a long and diligent search the kitten was found huddled underneath the oven of the cook stove. A nice warm spot for zero weather. NOTICE I will not be resrxmslhlA for any debts unless contracted by myself. Martin M.
