Olsons, Mrs Kate Seiler of Wesley. The bride, a daughter of Mr and Mrs John Barragy of Rockwell was attended by Jean Marie Walcott, Virginia Miller and Jean Barragy. The grooms attendants were Keith Haverly, Frank Barcha and Billy Cink. Jerry Haverly was ring-bearer. The bride is a graduate of Sacred Heart slhool and of the LaJames Beauty School in Mason City and has been employed at the Hollywood Beauty Shop in Mason City. The groom is a graduate oi Wesley high school and A.I.E., Des Moines. He was in the army and Korea. He is now employed by Robinson Construction In Algona where, the young couple will live. Trip To Europe Mrs Helen Youngwirth was honored at a party Monday evening at the home of her daughter and family, the Joe Krieps'. Guests were the Dick Mays of Renwick, Julius Beckers of Livermore, Dick Youngwirths, Corwith and the Luke and Larry Youngwirths; Mrs Youngwirth left Wednesday for Montreal, Canada, and sailed the next day aboard the Arcadia for a trip to five European countries. The tour will extend six weeks. She plans' to visit her son John Youngwirth and his wife at an army base at Ludwrgsburg, Germany, and to have an audience with the Pope and visit the shrine at Lourdes. Mrs Youngwirth plans to stay longer in order to visit relatives in northwest Germany. Cuts Fingers Irwin Martin, son of Mr and Mrs Reese Martin, suffered badly cut and bruised fingers of his left hand while at work at Algona one day last week. He Is . vacationing. Farewell Honors Mr and Mrs Ed Hynes were honored at a farewell party July 10 by members of their 500 club. A neighborhood farewell picnic was given Wednesday evening on the E. M. Olson lawn for the Hynes family. Mr Hynes left Thursday for Owen, Wis., where he will operate a dairy farm. The family will join him next month. New Arrival Michelle Ann was born Sunday July 10 to Mr and Mrs Cletus Studer in the Britt hospital. They now have a family of two sont and two daughters. Mr and Mrs Andrew Reising and Mr and Mrs J. P. Studer are the grandparents. Mr and Mrs Lon Gauge spent the July 10 weekend in thi Philip Adrian home in Da Moines. Mr and Mrs Larry Hildman and daughter ot Long Beach Cal. returned Wednesday from r visit with her parents and relatives in Chicago. They and his brother Matt Hildman, wife and small son also of Long Beach have been visiting "ie parents Mr and Mrs Ed Hildman and other relatives. The two younf couples were honored at a party at the G. M. Studer home Wednesday evening. Mrs Luke Youngwirth was honored at a surprise birthday party Thursday afternoon at thi Joe Krieps home. Guests were Mrs Dick May, Renwick; Mrt Harold Weber, Mrs Ed Johnson Mrs Martin Hamilton, Mrs Ed Thissen, Mrs Albert Lickteig. and Mrs Mike Vitzthum. Hostesses are Patty Youngwirth, Yvonne Patthoff and Mary Krieps. The • afternoon was spent at cards followed by a lunch. Yvonne Patthoif left Thursday for Boone where she will be employed. She will live with her sister, Delores Patthoff ana Pat Goetz, who are employed there. Marilyn Hugh completed her boot training as a woman marine at Parris Island, South Carolina, ' recently. Mrs Mag Bleich attended the Cobblestone Players Summer theater in Clear Lake Sunday. Mr and Mrs Burnett Bauer of South Bend, Indiana spent July 12 in the home r>r his uncle R. C. Bauer and family. Mr and Mrs N. F' Weber left Friday for Jefferson where they spent several days with 'their daughter and family the Calvin Meineckes. On Sunday they all attended a McElroy family reunion at Afton. Don Hanig was nn vacation last week from the Farmers Coop, elevator. Dr. Alice Sartor of Charles City and two friends spent Saturday evening with the former's sister, Mrs Mag ISleich. Mrs Mary Rockwood and Mrs Mag Bleich began a course in economics in Algona. It is r> Drake University extension course. Sister M. Luke of Chicago is expected July 27 for a vacation visit in the home of her brother Leo Hanig and family, and with other relatives. Worth Texas for, a week's visit with the latter two ladies sister, Mrs Madelyn Hutchens and family. Mrs Harold Price was honored at a suYprise birthday party in her home Tuesday evening. Observe 40th At Swea City Swea City — One hundred twenty-five friends and relatives congratulated Mr and Mrs Pete Ilelmke at the open house held in observance of their 40th wedding anniversary Sunday in the; Methodist Church, Swea City. The children of the couple sponsored the open house and assisted with the'serving. Ladies belonging to a neighborhood birthday club, of which Mrs Helmke is a member, worked in the kitchen. A family dinner was held at noon at the Helmke homo, Mrs Julius Rolfe nnd Mrs Fred Looft assisted with the dinner. Booster Meeting There will be a meeting of persons interested in organizing a Trojan Booster Club July 22 Find it fast in the YELLOW PAGES of your phone book nt 3 p.m. in the Stvcn City school. This club is to develop interest in athletics in the school and will be somewhat like the Music Boosters, which have been active here for several years. All adults .an- urged to be present for the meeting in order that the group can begin functioning. Hospitalited Silas Johnson was in Vets hospital at Des Moines for a checkup recently. Les Denton is still in the hospital at Cherokee and according to reports he has shown im- proyemfnt. A group of neighbors and friends went to the Denton farm recently and did the hny- ing. Mrs Rudy Haack helped Mrs Denton prepare/ the lunches and dinner for the men. Ice Cream Social WSCS of the Methodist' church will sponsor an ice cream social July 23 at the church.
