LuVerne Man Weds Laurens Girl June 25 LuVerne — In a nuptial mass in Sacred Heart Catholic church, Laurens, June 25, Gertrude Galloway became the bride of John II. Elbert. Their parents arc Mr. and Mrs. Jesse L. Galloway of Laurens and Mr. and Mrs. August Elbert of LuVerne. The double ring service was read by Rev. Jerome Degan. The bride, given in marriage by her father, was attired in a ballerina-length chantilly Ilac- hacl lace gown over white bridal satin. Her bodice was fashioned with sweetheart neckline, tapering to a V in back, short sleeves. Her illusion net finger-tip veil fell from a miniature pearl crown. She wore a pearl pendant and earrings, gift of the groom. Her colonial bouquet was white mums and pink sweetheart roses. Mrs. Edward Elbert, LuVerne, served as matron of honor. Bridesmaid was Gladys Galloway, Laurens. Best man was Paul Elbert, LuVerne and groomsman, Edward Elbert, LuVerne. A reception and wedding dinner followed at Pocahontas. Guests were registered by Mrs. Gerald Hertz, gifts were received by Dennis Galloway and arranged by Geraldine Ullmann of Titonka and Jean Janssen. The bride is a 1954 graduate of Plover Consolidated School, Iowa State Teachers College, Cedar Falls and four year teacher of first grade in the LuVerne Community School. The bridegroom is a 1952 graduate of the LuVerne Community School, served two years in the U.S. Navy and now engaged in farming. During the summer they will be at home in the apartment in ^he Wayne Sanford residence. Relative fCilled Mrs. Harold- -Wolf and her mother Mrs. Guy Giddings attended the funeral of Kenneth Alcott at Arnes Tuesday. They were accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. William Giddings of Burt. Mr. Alcott was killed in a car mishap. His wife was killed two years ago in a car accident; The late Mrs. Alcott was a sister of Guy and .William Giddings. » . «.* Relative Passes M/Sgt. and Mrs. Robert Bierma and sons of Salina, Kan', are guests in the home of her brother, the Harold Trauger' family. They were called here by the death of Tfessel Bierma, Nevada, father of M/Sgt. Bierma. Funeral rites were held 'there July 1. They were accompanied here by Guy Trauger, Riverside, Calif., father of Mrs. Bierma and Harold Trauger. Guy remained to visit his sons, Harold and James Trauger families. Eggloston were Thursday visitors with their daughter Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Henry at Rockwell City. Mf. and Mrs. Harry Lichty attended the wedding of Marlene Risvold, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Risvold, Clear Lake, and Richard Peterson, Clear Lake, June 26 in the Lutheran church there. A reception followed at the County club. Baptismal rites were held at the LuVerne Ziort Evangelical Church Juno 26 when Paula Rac, infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Milton Wilhelm, was christened with Rev. E. A. Weiss officiating. The sponsors were Ronald and Sharon Wilhelm. Guests for dinner in the baby's honor were the grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Albert Wilhelm and Mrs. Jessie Sanford, LuVerne and aunt Mr. and Mrs. Richard Larson of Humboldt. Sunday guests in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jack McClellan family were her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Patterson and boys of Fort Dodge. Supper guests in the Jack McClellan home were Mr. and Mrs. Myron Hinz and daughter, Lu- Vernc, Mr, and Mrs. James Smith and girls of Redonda Beach, Calif. Charles Rummers, LuVerne is still at the home of his brother Mr. and Mrs. Elwood Rummens at Livermore. He suffered severe burns, several weeks ago, when a tractor he was operating caught fire. Mr. and Mrs. James Bowman, Marty and Martha of Lynn Haven, Fla. arrived Monday for a week's visit with the parents and brother of Mrs. Bowman, the J. O. Marlys and Andrew Martys. Mrs. Alvina Fiede, 87, was taken to a Rest Home m Burt Tuesday She has been cared for the past six months in the home of her nephew Mr. and Mrs. Harold Meyer and family. Mrs. John Spanlding of Midland, Mich.; Mrs. Joe Papps, Detroit, former Vora and Elda Tiede, arrived Monday to visit relatives here. They came to be with their father, Fred Tiede, 88, patient in the Good Samaritan Home. Algona. The annual reunion of the late Mr. and Mrs. Alex Larimer family was held Sunday at the Briggs Wood Park, Webster City. Mr. and Mrs. John Voss, Jr., Lu- Verne were in attendance.
