The Corpus ChvFti process! in on last Thursday May 2s, was certainly the grandest eelebratmn ever witnessed in St. Marys oa that occasion. 'r. e-i; An i i 1 i 7 I i Further research would reveal to as that on the festival day cf Corpus Christi the faithful have celebrated with public religions devotion for more than six hundred years. And. as year after year has rolled by, everlasting impressions have been marked on the tender hearts of the yoang, and alike on the weary hearts of the old. And who can say that the careless spectator having no faith at all, lias turned away with a soul unmoved from a Corpus Christi scene.

Could anything ia this wide world more appropriate than our own home celebration. Wherever we may have our homes in the years to come, when the real battle of life has begun let us hore that the sacred memories of the feHival of Corpus Christi so grandly celebrated at St. Marys oa 28 of May. ia the year of our Lord ISM will come to oar spiritual aid like an angel of mercy to cheer the despondent heart in oar daily toil or to give a plea-ant thrill ia the midst of pain and sickness, and should old age be our allotment, the vivid Splendors of that day are so indelibly impressed on us that we can look back over til-1 dreary path through the wilderness of life, as we would look back at an oasis ia the sandy desert, aad again with imaginations almost real paint afresh that hollowed Chrh-iian pageant. Yes indeed it will ahbrdus infinite happiness at times during life to renew in memory the celebration of Corpus Christi at St.

Marys and witness in silent reflection that vast procession. There was the tender infant ia its mother's arms getting its first impression of faith, and but a step away tottering old age on its last Christian review. And there were the little girls so beautiful and so gay, all clothed in white and with garlands oa their heads, like so many little angels as they strewed the pathway of the Blessed Sacrament with flowers, charming flowers, on: best emblems of purity and love. What class so happy at that solemn festival, or enjoyed their surroundings so well as the iiith? boys, dressed in such becoming uniforms, among whom no doubt there are some mighty h-aders in the great events to come. And there were the young maidens so sweetly chanting their songs of praise and thanksgiving.

There werc-the banners and the flags to beautify the scene. And how they did seem to ft ream aad float over that great multitude as if conscious of the kneeling in silent adoration at each altar. There was the booming gun, the consoling masic, and the fervent prayer. There too were tiie sainted Fathers, the very Lie and soul, I may say of all the devotion, with faces aglow with faith, cheering us oa and oa to Christian duty. And in the procession from any point of view could be seen the loving sisters who sacrificed evtry earthly aifk-etion for our sake and no alluring price of the world can ever blight- the love they have in their hearts for us.

And in conclusion I may say that the whole success of this celebration is chieSy. owing to the untiring efforts of oar pastor, Rev. Fr. Frier who left nothing undone that would to make this procession a gram! success. Maut Jane Boyle.
