It also now operates in 87 foreign countries. Last year, it distributed 7.8 million Bibles and Testaments, up 8.3 per cent from Ihe year before, and three times as many as 10 years ago.

Slender had served as mayor, on the hospital board and on the Selective Service board. Ho was a member of the VFW, American Legion and WW I Barracks.
