Bridge clubs prove a constant round of fun and food with each hostess trying to outdo the others when it comes to desserts. So if you're looking for ideas, these exciting dishes should be right up your alley. Suppose we start with Chocolate Minarets. Shaped like miniature domes of oriental palaces this delicate dessertimento will float your guests on a magic carpet to the land of legendary gardens. The fluffy puffs are filled and frilled with a suave chocolate cream and topped off with a flurry of confectioners' sugar. Entirely different, but equally sensational in its own right, Strawberry Sponge Shortcake is a new recipe just perfect for very special occasions. Actually, it's a short cut to a glamorous dessert, and how glad we are to have such recipes to fall back upon at times! In this, strawberry chiffon pie filling is combined with sponge cake and fresh or frozen strawberries. Barton Cream Torte with cocoa whipped cream filling really melts in your mouth! For good measure, frost top and sides with Boston Cream Filling, then sprinkle with toasted flaked coconut and chill. There's even a Buttermilk Apple Spice Cake so glamorous it looks like the creation of a French or Viennese chef . . . And if you're looking for something easy, yet novel, you can whip up a Chocolate Chiffon Pie in a meringue shell and garnish with whipped cream. Of course, some groups serve a bit more of a lunch with sandwiches or fancy rolls, salad and coffee. If this is the pattern of your parties, we suggest Olive Cheese Rolls with a salad . . . Finger sandwiches are always dainty and popular also. An effective companion dish might take the form of Lime Bavarian Salad into which crushed pineapple and whipped cream have been combined, with the center filled with scarlet strawberries to form a picture in color contrast! With any of these you can't go wrong! CHOCOLATE MINARETS Your favorite cream puff recipe or chocolate.
