Raisins; the point that at least one member of the City Council Is a member of the Loanntlvllle Country Club and also a stockholder, and as such owns a proportionate share of the real estate at Montgomery and Lanj-don roads, which the city has decided to purchase for a fire engine house, Fred C.

Wegohorst, as a taxpayer, filed suit 'in Common Pleas Court yester day seeking to enjoin the purchaao. In addition to declaring that such a purchase would be Illegal, even If the member of Council did not vot upon the purchasing ordinance, Wego-hoft, through Attorneys enry B. Street and Alcorn Alcorn, further charges that Council proposes to pay (6.000 for the lot, whereas Wegehoft declares that It Is worth but $1,500. Wenenoft says that the neighborhood Is soned for residence purposes only, and a reasonable value for property In the neighborhood is 150 a front foot, provided they are located on the main highway and are level and have a depth of not less than 150 feet. The lot which the city ordinance proposes to purchase, he says, is sonod for residence purposes, and fronts 60 feet on Montgomery road, but It has a depth of only 100 feet, and the ground Is not level, declining sharply to a depth of 18 feet at the rear.

By reason of this, Wegehoft alleges, the lot Is not worth more than (26 a front foot, or 11.500 for the entire lot. The City Council has agreed to pay 6,000 for the lot, however. Wegehoft says, and he declares this will be an Illegal expenditure of puo-llo funds. The two grounds will be claimed sufficient to prevent the city from purchasing the lot for the new fire house, agalnRt the location of which at that point there haa been much objection. Judge Thomas H.

The first flash of the weekly report of the Weather Bureau made rather a bearish ImpreHAion on sentiment, as there was a riurry or selling op us pudi. ration, out offerings were absorbed on aniDacka or few pointa, and the market firmed up again later, influenced by mention of nun lsh features in the details. The report appeared to be about a standoff, some local traders eald.

PECLAL DISPATCH TO TH ENQUIRES. Chicago, June 18. Heavy Belling of wheat followed an early bulge In the market today, with the result thai futures slumped to the lowest level in two months or mare. Scattered liquidation of long wheat, with In different support were responsible for the declines.

Unexpectedly and rather suspiciously strong cables from Liverpool gave the market false show of strength early, which probably intensified the weakness later, as early buyers turned sellers, with stop loss orders finding a thin market. Liverpool was to ftc, higher at the finish. General and heavy rains were again reported northwest. A little more interest is being shown in new crop gulf wheat, but the sales so far are light, and there was also a small business in Manitoba wheats in view qf the big decline in futures. Opening prices for corn were higher, but this bulge was followed by a drastic aecllne to the lowest levels in some time.

The cash de mand was slower, and there was con sldtrable liquidation credited to local longs, especially In the July, which Was relatively weak. Local cash sales were 97,000 bushels. Weather and crop news Is satisfactory as a whole. Buying support came mainly from shorts and holders of bids. Oats were weak especially for the July deliveries, in which there was considerable liquidation.

On the break there was a good demand with a fair recovery from the low spots. Rye dropped with wheat, and did not score much of a comeback. There was no new development In the rye situation, but longs were uneasy over the weakness in other grains, while there was little new buying. Provisions showed some firmness early, but the drop in grains affected the market and prices weakened later, running into fair buyng on the dips, Hogs were mostly 10c off, and receipts were 23,000 head. The report of stor age holdings was regarded as bearish causing a generally weaker sent! ment. Consuming interest was also slower.

Dull and easy condition also were noted in poultry. All sixes of colored fowls were oti 2c, with heavies at 22c and Leghorns were lVc lower. The supply of fryers was more bur densome and concessions were freely made to clean up offerings. Colored fryers 2 lbs and over were quoted at 3 4c, the same as heavy broilers, and light-Weight broilers were off anothe cent. Leghorn fryers and heavy broilers are also as a parity at 32c and light weights were unchanged, Creamery butter remained quiet and steady, with receipts about equal to trade requirements.

Butter fat ar rivals were slightly larger and No, packing stock in good demand at quoted prices. Track holdings of white potatoes were Increased to 99 cars, the market closing weak.
