The village Building Code Committee, headed by Mayor John R. Anderson and Oscar Friedrich, Building Inspector, is expected to reach a decision on the matter before Council meets. The race-track proposal has created considerable discussion in Newtown, with sentiment somewhat in favor of issuing the permit: Proponents and opponents of llroposal will be permitted to air their views at the Council meeting.

Mf. Aicholtz explained last night that 20 acres of the tract are inside the village of Newtown. A grandstand overlooking a half-mile and one-quarter-mile track would be built inside Newtown. A parking' lot would be set up on acreage outside Newtown. The grandstand would accommodate 5,000 spectators.

The two race tracks would be dustproofed with blacktop or similar material. Powerful lights aTe planned under a tentative program which would stage races one week-day night and Saturday afternoons. Plans call for completion of the track by spring. The track would be larger than the "hot-rod" track at Evendale and offer competition to similar tracks at Glen Este and Amelia, in Clermont County.
