U>p»f DM 16, 1966 Municipal Utilities UTILITIES PROCEEDINGS A regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Algona Municipal Utilities was held in the City Hall, City of Algona, Iowa, Jan. 3, 1966, at 7:30 o'clock p. m. Present were: Buchanan, Harmes, Bay, T. James Palmer, Supt., and Ira Kohl, Secy. Absent were: None. The minutes of the meeting Dec. 17, 1965, were read and approved. Motion by Harmes, seconded by Bay, that the vouchers payable be approved and authorized paid as audited. Roll call, voting "Aye", Buchanan, Harmes and Bay. Voting "Nay", none. Motion carried. Carlson, et al, Refund 20.00 A resolution was approved and adopted, naming the Iowa State Bank, Algona, Iowa as official depository of Municipal Funds. A resolution was approved and adopted, naming the Security State Bank, Algona, Iowa as official depository of Municipal Funds. A resolution was approved and adopted, designating F. L. McMahon, City Treasurer, City of Algona, Iowa, as "Treasurer" of Municipal Funds. A resolution approving Change Order No. 1, of a contract with Donaldson Engineering & Construction Co., Maryville, Mo., was approved and adopted. A resolution was passed, approved and adopted, fixing the compensation of the members of the Board of Trustees of the Al- gona Municipal Utilities. . A schedule of salaries and wages of employees was presented and reviewed. Then there was a motion by Buchanan, seconded by Bay, that the schedule of salaries be fixed, for the ensuing year, as approved, subject to change, effective Jan. 1, 1966. Roll call, voting "Aye", Buchanan, Harmes, and Bay. Voting "Nay", none. Motion carried. Next meeting date set for Jan. 17, 1966, at 7:30 o'clock p. m. Meeting adjourned. Ira Kohl Secretary Allen K. Buchanan President of the Board UTILITIES PROCEEDINGS A special meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Algona Municipal Utilities was held in the City Hall, City of Algona, Iowa, Jan. 3, 1966, at 9:30 o'clock p. m. Present were: Buchanan, Harmes, Bay, T. James Palmer, Supt., and Ira Kohl, Secy. The meeting was called for the purpose of approving and accepting a contract dated Sept. 1, 1965, by and between the Board of Trustees and the Donaldson Engineering & Construction Co., Maryville, Mo., for the furnishing and installation of Waterworks Improvements for the City of Algona, Iowa, and for such other business in connection therewith as may come before the meeting. There was a motion by Harmes, seconded by Bay, that a transfer of $30,000.00 be made from the Light Fund to the Water Fund. Motion carried. All voting "Aye." Motion by Bay, seconded by Harmes, that the following vouchers payable be approved and authorized paid. Motion carried. All voting "Aye." LIGHT FUND Water Fund, Transfer . 30,000.00 WATER FUND Donaldson Engineering & Construction Co., On Contract. ........ 63,515.73 A resolution approving and accepting the contract for Waterworks Improvements, as completed, by and between the Board of Trustees and the Donaldson Engineering & Construction Co., was passed, approved " and adopted. Buchanan President of the Board Council Minutes The City Council met in an organizational meeting Jan. 3, 1966 with Mayor Finn and the following named council members present: Muckey, Andreasen, Elbert, Cook, Miller and Peirce. Absent: None. The newly elected Mayor and Council members were given the oath of office and the following business was transacted at this time. The resolution allocating the revenue for the year 1966 for the various funds of the city was adopted. Resolution designating dtticial depositories for municipal funds was adopted. Mayor appointments were as follows: Police Chief, Al Boekelman, Assistant Police Chief, Richard Groen, and the following of fleers i Ernest Hutchison, Peter Jorgenson, William Rasmussen, Eppo Bulten, Raymond Gerdes and James Vofgt. Council- Committees: Ways, Means and Finance: Peirce, Cook and Muckey. Purchasing: Cook, Miller and Peirce. Fire: Elbert, Muckey and Andreasen. Sewers, Drainage and Sanitation: Muckey, Miller and Andreasen. Streets, Alleys and Sidewalks: Miller, Elbert and Peirce. Rules and Ordinance: Andreasen, Cook and Elbert. Comfort Station Committee: Boekelman, Smith and Courtney. Mayor appointments subject to the approval of the Council were as follows: Mayor Pro Tern - K. T. Pierce. City Treasurer - F. L. McMahon. Fire Chief - Ralph Elbert. Council appointments were as follows: Acting Supt. of Public Improvement - Dave Smith. City Attorney - Russell Buchanan. City Clerk - Dave Smith. Health Officer - Dr. Rooney. Street Commissioner - Albert Pergande. Moved and seconded the meeting adjourn. D. A. SMITH City Clerk ATTENTION! ALL DOG OWNERS CHAPTER 351 - 1962 Code of Iowa 351.1 Annual License. The owners of all dogs three months old or over, except dogs kept in kennels and not allowed to run at large, shall annually obtain license therefore, as herein provided. Kennel dogs are defined as those dogs kept or raised solely for the bona fide purpose of sale and which are kept under constant restraint. 351.2 "OWNER" defined. The term "owner" shall, in addition to its ordinary meaning, include any person who keeps or.har- bors a dog. 351.3 Application by owner. The owner of a dog for which a license is required shall, on or before the first day of January of each year, apply to the auditor of the county in which he resides for a license for each dog owned by him. 351.26 Right and Duty to Kill Unlicensed Dog. It shall be lawful for any person, and the duty of all peace officers within their respective jurisdictions unless such jurisdiction shall have otherwise provided for the seizure and impoundment of dogs, to kill any dog for which a license is required, when such dog is not -• wearing a collar with license tag attached as herein provided. AMENDING BY HOUSE FILE 566 of the 61st GENERAL ASSEMBLY (In Part). Before a license is issued for any dog, the owner must present evidence with the application required by Section 351.3 that the dog has been VACCINATED AGAINST RABIES. Such evidence shall be a certificate of vaccination signed by a licensed veterinarian, and the certificate shall show that the vaccination does not expire within 6 months from effective date of the dog license.
