i Apollo 7 Astronauts Brought Safely Back To Earth SPACE CENTER Houston (DPI) Apollo 7 brought its three astronauts safely back to earth in a pink cloud of fire today ending most successful spaceflight and shattering the barriers between man and the moon Apollo 7 splashed upside down in the Atlantic 17 miles from the carrier Essex blocking its radio beacon It took the recovery helicopters searching frantically in a drizzling rain more than 10 minutes to find the spacecraft carrying Walter Schirra 45 Donn Eisele 38 and Walt Cunningham 36 Command pilot Schirra in touch with
