T .:.._. j __ k Receive Over 100 Cards On 60th Ann'sary PORTLAND - Mr. and Mrs. Ray Fitch received over 100 cards and letters on their recent 60th wedding anniversary. They were very thankful to their many relatives and friends who remembered them and made their day so wonderful. Their daughters, Florence, Hazel and Myrtle spent the day with them and they received a phone call from Helen at Pomona Calif. - o Mr. and Mrs. Jack Thompson and little son of Minneapolis spent their Christmas holidays with home folks. They were Christmas Eve guests in the J,R. Thompson home as was Julie Thompson, and Mr. and Mrs. Gene Thompson and family of Lone Rock. Mr. and Mrs. Edmund Larson, the Jack Thompsons, Euclair Meyers, Arrie Dittmers, Quin- tim Bjustroms, Verle Harlans of Calif., and the Howard Sarch- etts of Wall Lake, were Christmas Day dinner and supper guests in the Otto Harlan home. Mr. and Mrs. Duane Dittmers were supper guests, Christmas Eve guests in the Edmund Larson home were, Mr. and Mrs. James Harms and family, Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Davis, Hurt, Mr. and Mrs. Gary Davis, son, Algona, and Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Harms and family of Pocahontas. Christmas dinner guests in the Howard Sparks home were, Mr. and Mrs. Guy Dimond of Britt, Daryl Sparks of Britt, Jim Sharks of Chesterton, Ind., Bonnie Yotmg of Traer and Mrs. Ruth Sparks of Wesley. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Sparks Mrs. Ruth Sparks and Rev. Paul Hanson went to Des Moines recently to visity Dean Sparks in the hospital there, they found him slightly improved. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Bartlett spent Christmas Day in the Andrew Hanson home in Swea City. Christmas Day dinner guests in the Tony Jandl home were, Mr. and Mrs. Mennet Trunkhill, Chas., Tommy and Cathy, Mr, and Mrs. George Sengebusch, Gary and Darwin of Malaca, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Diers and family, Bancroft, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Trunkhill and Scott, Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Curtis, Donna and Terrie of Ottosen, Roger Giddings, August Sankey, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Ross and Arneta of Crystal Lake, Mr. and Mrs. Hanford Brock and Mike, Woden and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Jandl and family of Hutchinson, Minn. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Trunk- hill are parents of a baby boy in the Britt hospital weighing over 8 Ibs. He has been named David Charles. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Bartlett had a late Christmas, Sunday, in the home of the Merlyn Bartletts at Keister, Minn. Mr. and Mrs. P. W. Marlow and Douglas, Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Meister, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Eckels of Britt and Mr. and Mrs. Larry Holding and family of Burt were dinner guests Christmas Day in the Richard Bristowhome at LuVerne. Christmas Day dinner and supper guests in the Herman Harms home were Mr. and Mrs. Ben Gruls and Larry, Mrs. Grace Gruis, Buffalo Center, Bert Gruis Titonka, Mr. and Mrs. Rollo Moore and family and Mr. and Betty Gatton Of Sexton Is Engaged To Wed r BETTY GATTON Mr. and Mrs. Harold Gatton, Sexton, have announced the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Betty, and Howard Eischen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Eischen, St. Benedict. The wedding will be held Jan. 17 in St. Benedict Catholic church. Miss Gatton is a graduate of Algona high school, while Mr. Eischen, a LuVerne high school graduate, is employed at Livermore. Mrs. Harold Harms. Mr. and Mrs. Jay Steven and Mrs. Bernadine Ophiem and children went to Ionia to spend Christmas Day with the Jim Stevens. They also stayed over Sunday to celebrate the 40th wedding anniversary of the Jay Stevens and the fourteenth wedding anniversary of the Jim Stevens, both Sunday the 26th. Christmas Day guests in the Jesse Harms home was, Mr. and Mrs. Phil Carlson and daughter of Algona, and Mr. and Mrs. BUI Champion and family of Swea City. Belinda Champion is spending the week with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Harms. Mr. and Mrs. Edumnd Larson, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Thompson and son were late Christmas dinner guests, Sunday, in the Harvey Larson home. Other guests were Effie Teeter, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Arend, the Lloyd Broesders and the John Teeters of NormaL 111. Mrs. Ronald Ortman, Robert and Sandra, and Mr, and Mrs. Clarence Christensen were Sunday evening guests in the Edmund Larson home. Mrs. Victor Fitch, Mr. and Mrs. Timer Harms and family, George Hix and Stanley Ruse, Mrs. Ed Zwiefel and Orlo were Sunday afternoon visitors in the Dwight Ruse home. The Harms and Mr. George Hix were also supper guests in the Ruse home. Mr. and Mrs. P. W. Marlow and Douglas were Sunday guests in the William Gifford home in Burt. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Loebach and little son were guests at a late Christmas dinner in the Alvin Klein home at Irvington, Sunday. Dies Suddenly LONE ROCK - Word has been received here by friends of the sudden passing of Mrs. Kenneth Chase of Hemet, Calif. She is to be buried at Arlington, Iowa. Mr. Chase was superintendent at the time Fenton, Seneca, and Lone Rock were consolidating.
