I. Lichter of Burt, were married Nov. 26 at 9:30 a. m. at St. Cecelia's Catholic church here in a double ring ceremony performed by Father James Bruch. The bride, escorted to the altar by her father, was attended by Carmen Kane, a college friend from Medford, Minn, as maid of honor. Thomas Lichter, a brother of the bridegroom, served as best man. Ushers were Bob Lovstad, Burt, and Gerald Hilton, Man- kato. John Lovstad, a student at Mankato State, and brother of the bride, was soloist, with Gweneth Teeter of Mason City at the organ. A reception followed the ceremony in St. Cecelia's dining hall. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Smith, Jr. of Burt were host and hostess. Mrs. James Droegemeuller of Fairmont had charge of the guest book, and Mrs. Robert Lovstad,' aunt of the bride, poured. His last assignment was at Highland, New Jersey, where he was a Military Policeman. He has been visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Thomas at LuVerne and then goes to St. Paul, Minn., where he has employment. Mr. and Mrs. Irl Bell and Cheryl of Red Oak spent the weekend at the Allan Watnem's. Mrs. Watnem is their daughter, the former Lois Bell. Saturday, the Bells visited at the H. D. Benson home. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Johnson and family of Moorland were Sunday visitors at the Conrad Johnson's. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Telford were Sunday visitors at the Lorin Larson home at Irvington. Mrs. Emma Jean Monday of Friendship Haven,. Ft. Dodge, came Sunday to spend a few days at the LenhardHoldenhome. CHAMPION PUMPKIN Janice Eckel, 13, has been awarded championship honors in the Big Pumpkin contest sponsored by the Men's Garden Club of Des Moines. Janice is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rudy Eckel, Mitchellville. Her entry of the Big Max variety weighed 100 Ibs. when picked and has been entered in the Men's Garden Clubs of America national contest.
