Herbert RUSSIA GOT URANIUM Ottawa, Canada, July in (UP) A Royal Investigating Commission revealed today that the Russian military attache in Ottawa had obtained a sample of Uranium 235, the essence of the atomic bomb, and rushed it to Moscow by plane. The attache, Lieutenant Colonel Motinov, was given the sample by Dr. Allan Nunn May, a British scientist who worked in Montreal on atomic research. A British court has since sentenced Dr. May to prison for his efforts in behalf of the Russian espionage system.

The commission said it had been able to identify thus far only members of a ring operated in Ottawa by Col. Nicholai Zabotin, former Soviet military attache. Among those named by the government as members of this group was W. M. Pappin of Ottawa, an 1600 WALNUT CORNER LIBERTY Hughes High School and U.
