Set Command Inspection Of Guard Unit Command maintenance inspection of all equipment of Algona Battery of the 194th Field Artillery was made recently. According to Sgt. Robert Moritz, the report was satisfactory, Sgt. Moritz announced that the annual audit and inventory will be conducted Dec. 14.

All property and books of the local contingent will be inspected. Capt. Howard Stephenson, commanding officer, who is responsible for all supplies and property here, will make verification at the conclusion of the audit and inventory. On Jan. 13, the annual general inspection will be conducted by Lt.

Col. Charles L. Elslander of the 5th U. S. Army Headquarters in Chicago.

He will then proceed to examine and inspect the vault, facilities, supplies, vehicles and equipment. He will inspect the security of weapons, of which there are 100, and the mess gear and utensils. Picking a number of lockers at random, he will inspect the condition of individual gear stored in them. At 7 p. the training-phase of the inspection will start, with all personnel of the contingent required to be present.

The public is invited to attend at 7:30 p. m. From a list of men, picked by their instructors, a number of members will be selected at random by the inspector. They will be expected to answer questions in open audience, which will show their knowledge gained from experience with the Guard. is John Eno of Luana, assistant executive officer. Sgt.Moritz is administrative supply'tech- nician. According to Sgt. Moritz, active-duty summer training will probably take place at Camp Ripley, with dates tentatively set for July 30 to Aug. 13.

Tentative plans are to hold Muster Day February 19, with plans also tentative for open house on that date. Open House At Electronic Firm A special 8-day open house is now in progress at Electronic Specialties on Diagonal street. This event continues through Nov. 19, and the firm will be open every night from 7 until 10 p. m.

Coffee and cookies are being served and there is a registration for a free Admiral 21" color TV set. Full details of this big event were advertised in last Thursday's UDM. Algona (la.) DM MefaM Tuesday, Nov. 16, Masonic Post Masters Night Observance of Past Masters Night will be held at the Masonic Hall, Thursday evening, Nov. 18, an annual event to honor all Past Masters of Prudence Lodge and Past Masters of other Masonic Lodges.

A 6:30 dinner will be served by the ladies of Eastern Star chapter and following the dinner, the meeting will be held at 8 p.m. in the Lodge Hall. Ralph Logan, a member of the Speakers Bureau of the Grand Lodge of Iowa will be the speaker of the evening. The meeting will be open to all Masons and their guests who may be Masons or non-Masons. Tickets for the dinner are available from Prudence Lodge members.
