2B The Detroit News Sunday, April 4, 1999 Obituaries 1-75 Tell us about your commute The Detroit News wants to hear how commuters and other drivers cope Monday with the shutdown of 1-75. Share your comments at Canfield," Studinski said. "It usually takes me only about 20 minutes. "I avoid I-94 like the plague because it's always so overcrowded. So I'll probably drive to the area of the Ambassador Bridge, exit and and try some surface streets.

I hope I don't end up in Canada someplace." Tim Foreman, of Foreman Brothers Trucking on 14th near Bagley, sees the closure as a nightmare for his fleet. "It's a huge deal for us," Foreman said. "We make 20 to 25 trips a day, hauling mail between Detroit and the mail facility in Troy. That stretch of road is our main way out there and the closure is going to crunch us pretty good. "Our drivers will adapt, but it will cause delays." Roma Cafe owner Janet Sossi Bel-coure is afraid of a business slump at her restaurant on Riopelle near Eastern Market though patrons coming south on I-75 won't be affected.

"Some people are going to get it in their heads that all of I-75 is closed, but it's not," the restaurateur said. Edward V. Budd hands-on president Continued fnvn Page IB For Miller, the commuter who'll leave 45 minutes earlier Monday, the disruption will be worth it in the long run. "The road needs it," he said. "The strip of I-75 they repaired south of downtown is beautiful.

My only concern is coming home after work. At night, everyone wants to get out at the same time." Another driver who'll be detoured is Allen Park resident Diane Studzin-ski, who works at Wayne State University's School of Medicine. "My usual route to work is I-75 to Mack, then onto the service drive to By Lisa Jackson The Detroit News PLYMOUTH For Edward V. Hudd, business was always on his mind.
