Sequel teeters on flimsy pbt by Martin f. Kohn Free Press Staff Writer "Look Who's Talking Too" carries on the less than illustrious tradition that gave us Ann Sothern as the voice of an automobile in "My Mother the Car," Allan (Rocky) Lane as a talking horse in "Mr. Ed," Mary Jane Croft verbalizing the thoughts of a basset hound in "The People's Choice" (all TV shows) and Chill Wills as the movies' Francis the Talking Mule. If that weren't enough, for providing the baby's voice in the original "Look Who's Talking," Bruce Willis earned more for a few days' work than most of will see in a lifetime a reported $10 million. So there is reason to dislike "Look Who's Talking Too" even before entering the theater.

The movie itself does little to dispel that notion. Little Mikey (Lome Sussman, with voice-over by Willis again, saying more cute things) is now of toilet training age, a source of much mirth and merriment, not to mention an excuse to introduce a talking toilet. Mikey's parents, played by Kirstie Alley and John Travolta, are fools, managing to escalate a low-level marital tiff into a major-league separation. On the plus side, Mikey acquires a sibling, baby sister Julie (Megan Mil-ner, voiced rather charmingly by Rose-anne Barr without a note of whiny Luray Cooper (left) and Tim Rhoze team up in the play "Woza Albert!" The duo portray various blacks in Johannesburg who are expecting the second coming of Jesus, who is said to be flying in by jet from Jerusalem. 'Woza'duo is versatile and funny BY LAWRENCE DEVINE Free Press Theater Critic "Woza Albert!" is a quick hit of fantasy, with two extraordinary actors in 72 minutes playing a cross-section of Johannesburg blacks who all are expecting the second coming of Jesus there in South Africa.

The redeemer reportedly is coming in by jet from Jerusalem. "Woza Albert!" by Mbongeni Mgema, Percy Mtwa and Barney Simon is slam-bam street-corner theater, long on hustle and short on subtlety, that looks designed to be highly portable. These actors or any actors, here at 1515 Broadway or there in Soweto could pick it up and move it if the cops came. It is precisely the same style, right down to the exclamation point, as Mtwa's "Bopha!" 23 months ago at the Attic Theatre. The two actors, one fewer than in "Bopha!" grab hats, shawls and fake beards off a wall to change characters.

When they impersonate whites, they pull on a red rubber nose hanging around their neck on a blue string. And both Tim Rhoze and Luray Cooper are comic actors straight out of the Middle Ages, when performers in dusty town squares figured out quickly that comedy got the audience by the nose faster than flailing and preaching did. In the hectic pace of "Woza Albert!" it is unavoidable that some of the clues in heavy African dialect get lost. But it is the most simple of stories: Coming back to earth is the savior, called in dialect "Morena," and this report causes something of a stir along Johannesburg's Albert Street, where the black laborers jam up for permits ter as John Lennon sings "Jealous Alley mopes to "Are You Lonesome Tonight," and Mikey and Julie stroll along to Sonny and Cher's "I Got You Babe." These musical interludes are downright delightful compared to some of the minor characters, particularly the kids' mooching, trigger-happy Uncle Stuart and the proprietor of the baby gym, played by one Gilbert Gottfried (picture Richard Simmons with Martha Raye's mouth) whose performance makes Pee-wee Herman look like Sir Laurence Olivier. Incidentally, the voice of the talking toilet is Mel Brooks.

Now there's an idea for a sitcom. "My Father, the Oh, never mind. This Boxoffice Hit Comedy Premieres Tonight For Free On CBS-TV Instead Of Pay-Cable Channels like HBO, Showtime, Cinemax Or Hie Movie Channel, Look Who's Talking Too 4 Rated PG-13; sexual references, a lot of profanity, many toilet jokes. shrillness). The script, by director Amy Heck-erling and Neal Israel, provides a dime's worth of characterization and a nickel's worth of plot.

Whether it was intentional in the play's original 1984 version, it's tangy now to figure that the redeemer's three-syllable name begins with and ends in as if the savior's first name were Nelson. Rhoze and Cooper by turns portray open-air barbers, young meat vendors, old beggar women, policemen, soldiers, the Prime Minister (on television, with a red rubber nose) and two comical guys in a brickyard.

The show is fantasy, which is cartooning raised one dignified notch, and that allows Rhoze and Cooper to play a score of roles apiece, imitate entire bumpy tram compartments with a couple of crates, and mimic prison sirens, jack-hammers and, in a terrific scene, a jazz combo with Rhoze on the drums and Madlaon 14 MllaCampbell 583-4242 Ml.
