The Cubs lost despite a pay-ou homer by Dominic Dallessandro, who clouted one into the right-field stands with three on bases in the seventh. Pittsburgh worked on three Chicago hurlers, Lee, Pressnell and Olsen. The Pirate starter, starter, Joe Sullivan, lost his control in the seventh and went out after Dallessandro's homer.
