LOUISIANA LEGISLATURE. Wednesday, Fkbruart 13, 1867. The Souate. This body went into session at 12 o'closkto - day, Hon. Albert Voorhies, Lieu enant Gov - ernor, pretiiing, and twenty - two Senators present: Prayer by the Est. Father Chalon, of St. Louis Cathedral. A corumnti artion was received from Col. Snethen, the Governor's Secretary, announcing announcing that the Governor had signed the joint resolution of the Legislature relative to the ncn adoption of the constitutienal amendment amendment ; also, a resolution relative to the organisation organisation of the Supreme Court ; also, an act authorising the Citisene' Bank to extend the time of the State bonds ; also, an act authorising authorising the Louisiana State Bank to reduce its capital stock. Mr. Egan offered a joint resolution relative to the Louisiana State Seminary of Learning, requesting the Secretary of War to allow the usual military exercises at the Seminary, as aid institution. Referred, introduced an act relative tc it of medical education in and report upon the affairs and condition of the several draining district in the parishes of Orleans and Jefferson. Passed. The Chair appointed the committee : Messrs. on Public Works, Lands and Levees. Mr. Gordon introduced an act to amend a de 18 of the Civil Code. Referred to Judiciary C Public Works, etc., reported upon the resolution to authorize the State Engineer Engineer to examine the levees of the State. Adversely upon the petition of citia the i moved rochial Annirs, reported favorably upon the incorporation of the town ol Plaque mine. Mr. Munday, upon the Committee en Claims, reported adversely upon the claim of Mrs. (Widow) Bertin, as, in the opinion of the committee, the parish should pay for the lands in question which were taken for levee P
