Mr. Thomas Clageti. formerly of this county, was arrested in S:. Missouri, last Sunday. A fortune recently recently inherited from his father, Mr. Jesse Claseit. and a weakness for fair SeX. proved to be the cause of his trouble. Mr. Clagett is a son of the late Jesse Clagett. of Emmitsburg. this county, who di-d last July. Mr. Clagett. Sr.. was very we!! known in section, having oeen a member of Roosevelt's Rough Riders. During his life he had held in trust considerable considerable money, which after his death. was received by his son. For several weeks in August Mr. Thomas Clagett was in this city settling his father's estate. Relatives estimate that he secured nearly 512,000 512,000 by check and immediately left the West before the remainder of estate was disposed of. Through other other means he will also come into possession of more money. Talks With Relatives of Marriage. To one relative he said that he purchased a ticket to Oregon. Several Several days ago he sent newspaper clippings to his relatives here containing his marriage to a Miss Alison, of Centre. Kansas. He also mentioned previous marriage to another relative, who warned him to be careful. To another- relative he said that he been married and had a child died. When advised to marry again, he replied, "You don't catch me marrying again."
