Cairoll-Merrick Rites at Hammond Kenneth Lloyd Merrick, son of Mrs. Roy Merrick, Blackhawk apartments, claimed Barbara Ellen Carroll, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Carroll. Munster, Ind.. as his bride-at a 3:30 p. m. ceremony Saturday in St Paul's Episcopal church at Hammond, Ind. The Rev. Mr. Rehfeld read the rites at the altar which was banked with white gladioli. The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a white Chantilly lace gown fashioned with scalloped neckline, fitted bodice and brief train. A lace crown held her finger tip veil. She carried a bouquet of white gladioli, roses, gardenias and stephanotis. Mrs. Jane Carroll Thomas, as her sister's matron of honor, was attired in powder blue taffeta gown styled with bustle back and a Queen Mary hat Her flowers were yellow gladioli and talisman roses. Lovejoy will head the men's division with Paul McMains, Janesville, and Joseph Brost, Delavan, to handle out of town memberships. Teachers will be contacted by Keith Broman and Miss Marie Hanauska. H. P. Nutley is advertising chairman and concert arrangements will be made by Mrs. Otto Lukas, Mrs. Bliss and Mr. Lovejoy. In charge of headquarters will be Mrs. Bliss, Mrs. M. A; Birenholtz and Mr. McMains. rick, and John Conner, Hanv mond. The wedding reception was held at Woodmar Country club, Hammond. As the couple left for Eureka Springs, Ark., where they will spend two weeks, eight of Mr. Merrick's fraternity brothers sang "Delta Chi Sweetheart." Mr. Merrick and his bride were graduated from De Pauw university, Greencastle, Ind., in June. He was president of Delta Chi fraternity and Mrs. Merrick is a member of Alpha Chi Omega. The bride's travel suit is of crimson gabardine and her accessories navy. Mr. and Mrs. Mer- rtck will live in Indiana. Mrs. Roy Merrick and Mrs. Nelson B. Francis attended the wedding.
