Krape, 70, for 41 ears a hardware merchant in Lock Haven, and in recent years also an amateur painter and member of the Lock Haven Art Hub, died this morning at 6.20 o'clock at the Lock Haven Hospital Hospital after an extended Illness. He had been In falling health or the past two years, and was admitted to the hospital on Tuesday of last week. His condition condition had been critical from that time on. Mr. Krape was born at Cedar Springs, the son of Robert T. and Mary Adams Krape, and ived in this vicinity all his life. Forty-one years ago he entered entered Into the hardware partnership of Krape and Whiting, operating i store on Main St. near the Monument for 15 years. This partnership was dissolved and the store sold to Blake and Brungard. Brungard. Mr. Krape and his son, Charles H. Krape later opened the C. L Krape and Son hardware, continuing continuing In business for 26 years on Henderson St. and back on Main St. until Mr. Krape's retirement retirement three years ago. He was a member of Trinity Methodist Church and the Men's Bible Class, of. that church. In hla spare time some years ago he began painting with oils, and had won quite a following for his who St. that Wll- and and City amateur works, which he ex hiblted In Lock Haven Art Club shows. His Immediate survivors are ils son, who lives at the family home, 344 West Church St., and a sister, Mrs| Ida Heard, Tea neck, N. J. A number of nephews and nieces also survive.
