STOCKTON December 21 The usual quifet and monotony of the annual election of the Chamber of Commerce was broken to - day when a clever scheme was worked to enthuse interest in the selection of tjie board of trustees - It was not until late in the afternoon that thfe affair became public and then there was general hustling to save two dr three business men who had been nominated by a committee especiaUy appointed for that purpose srj veeks ago Heretofore ft n customary to simply call an m and count the votes cast for th official ticket which contained fifteen names This routine was supposed to - befcaj - rledputrfo - day butH H GrlmthVldedfdciuse an awakening He - voted - - ten - eubscrip - tions or memberships cumulative and gave c B Hart the largest vote cast f - though that jcentlemaa s name had not been placed jon the official ticket An effort was also made to drop an - other name from thofficial ticket but his friends managed to save him by voting in a similar manner Three of ho natc tritoc mnnco - cri tr vin nut T - by twovote4 while there was more or less scratching of all of the ballots with the exception of those for president president and vice - president George W Tatterson was elected president and S Frankenheimer vicerpresident The other jtrustees are C B Hart W P Steinbeck Fred M West D A Guernsey Jaimes A Barr S V Hy - land Fred Ol Meyers M J Gardner M D Eatun Otto Qrunsky John E Budd J A ianford and A C Oiilr lahan
