READING AMANDA E. (Desch) ELTZ, 82, widow of George Eltz, died at her home, 525 N. Ninth st. She was the oldest member of St. Luke's Lutheran church and when the new edifice was erected she was accorded the honor of digging the first spade of dirt for the church at Ninth and Green streets Mrs. Eltz' was a native of East Texas and lived in Reading 70 years, and at the N. Ninth street address 62 years. There survive these children: Ed ward N. Eltz, Reading; George, W. Eltz. Colorado Springs; Walter s Eltz, Minerva J. Eltz and Margaret, widow of Wayne H. Brown, all of Reading; five grandchildren and eight ereat - grandchildren. Funeral Director T. C. Auman, Inc.. is in charge of funeral arrange ments. Services Monday at 1.30 at the home. Interment in Charles Evans cemetery.
