Big Crowd Sees Pedaless Start Six Day Grind Pittsburgh's fifth international six- day bike race got off to an auspicious start on the tenth of a mile pine .saucer .saucer at Duquesne Garden last night, with 22 tried and true pedal-pushers carrying the colors of seven different countries. Before a near capacity crowd of 5,000 and promptly at 10:30 o'clock, the redoutable Reggie McNamara, who was an exponent of the cycle long before before most of the present day riders were born, started the maratnoners on their hazardous grind by pacing the field for the first-mile after David Lawrence, state Democratic chieftain, fired the opening gun.
