WASHINGTON By The Orange And Black Staff WHS interpers all received excellent ratings at the district contest Nov. 9. Pat Duncan, Esther Baer, Andrea Thompson and Sarah Baer received superior ratings at a Brookings contest. Laurie Lillehaug captured third in mixed extemp Nov. 12 and 13 at the Dust Bowl Tournament in Huron. The junior varis-ty team of Pat Duncan, Mitch Gaffer, Marsha Thompson and Karla Reiner captured third in junior varsity debate. In duet in-terp Dan Patterson and Liz Hanson placed third. WHS took sec-, ond in sweepstakes. Andrea Thompson, Mark Walker, Lori Miller and Laurie Lillehaug debated at the varsity level. Elks Teen-ager of the Month is Kim Thill. She was honored at a dinner Nov. 9. Jim Williams is Rotarian for November. He will attend their service club meetings. Mary Wellendorf, senior, was 'chosen as WHS's representative for the DAR citizenship competition. High School Thanksgiving. The award winning play "Death of a Salesman," by Arthur Miller, will be presented in the auditorium at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 3 and 4. Kim Pruit is in charge of publicity. The following won superior ratings at the Division I contest: Mark Fleming, humorous; Lisa LaFollette, poetry, and Nery Tuffe, dramatic. They earned the right to compete in the state contest. Jan Schmidt, Mary Naughton, Dan Gengler, Bob Huntley, Wayne Klug and Bob Denny will travel to St. Paul to attend the Junior Academy of Science regional symposium. Schmidt and Naughton will be attending the National Convention for Science Teachers in Minnesota. The debate team consisting of Tom Futrell, Neal Wagner, John Gilmore and Dan Gengler took third place at the Brookings Bobcat Debate Tournament. John Gilmore received second place in mixed extemp at the Huron Dust Bowl Classic Debate Happenings Tournament. O'Gorman students who participated in the 19th annual Concert Band Festival on the campus of Augustana College Friday and Saturday were Jane Freeman, Chuck Kreitzer, Mary Fis-chenich, Bob Barnett, Mary Bruggeman, Annette Brazones, Barb Verville, Steve Stombaugh and Mary McDonald. LINCOLN By the Quill and Scroll Staff Jim Olson, Kathy Bingen, Courtney Oistad, Sue Schafer, Scott Knutson, Pam Colon, Sue Hybertson, Jed Fritzemeier, Roger Fischer, Wayne Whitwam and Kellie Brinkman participated in the All-State Orchestra in Huron recently. Chosen as this month's service club representatives were Jed Fritzemeier, who will attend Rotary West; Michael Hoeger, Ki-wanis, and Eric Rasmussen, Downtown Rotary.
