A. Firestone , . To Direct Work Tjucta^Bodien. Mead Ordnance Plant OMAHA. May 22—(AP)—Russell A. Firestone, vice-president of the Firestone Tire and Rubber company, has arrived in Omaha to supervise construction and direct operations of the Nebraska Ordnance plant at Mead. The second son of the late Harvey S. Firestone. Sr., founder of the rubber company, the newcomer has been associated with Firestone companies during all of his busines.s career. He is head of the Nebraska Defense corporation, Firestune subsidiary, which will have charge of the ordnance plant He emphasized that his duties at the plant now are merely supervisory, since the federal government is building the plant. The Firestone company will take charge early this fall, he added, when the first line is ready to operate. A
