Albrecht was born May 7, 1920, in Waukegan, 111., and was raised there. He graduated from Liber-tyville High School in Libertyville, 111. His lifetime career was the United States Air Force, beginning when he enlisted in Chicago in March, 1940. He was stationed in various areas, including overseas, Korea and Alaska. He was stationed at Malmstrom from 1955 through 1961, Guam in 1961-63, Francis E. Warren AFB in Cheyenne, Wyo., from 1963-66, and completed his career stationed at Malmstrom from 1966 until retiring in 1968 as a first sergeant. He married Harriet Baseley on Aug. 27, 1941, in New Braunfelds, Texas. Albrecht was Post Commander of VFW Post 1087 in Great Falls, District VFW Commander and a member of M.O.C. (Cooties). He enjoyed fishing, traveling in the RV, golf, cribbage, pinochle, spending time at Holter Lake and watching his sons and grandchildren in their sports. He was an American Legion baseball umpire and longtime fastpitch umpire at Collins Field. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Charles Albrecht.
