Woman awakes from coma to accuse ex-husband The Associated Press CONCORD, N.H. For nearly five months, police waited outside a rehabilitation center room for Miriam Stoltz-Gurney come out of a coma and say who killed her friend, shot her in the head and left her to die in the woods. Last week, she remembered and pointed the finger at her ex-husband. Police arrested George Gumey, 52, and charged him with first-degree murder, kidnapping and attempted murder. He is accused of killing Roger Whitte-more, 52, of Swampscott, Mass., and taking his ex-wife prisoner Feb. 16. Gumey denies the shootings and is fighting extradition from Massachusetts.
