(Continued on Page Eleven English Channel this Summer. Mount Union High School Band To Present Concert The Mount Union High School Band under the direction of J. Richard Burkholder, supervisor of music in the Mount Union schools, will present an outdoor concert Sunday afternoon, May 14, at 3 o'clock. The concert will be held in front of the high shcool building. building. There will be two featured numbers numbers on the program; a cornet solo and a brass sextet. Frederick Cunningham, an outstanding senior senior member of the band, will be the cornet soloist. Frederick was first chair solo cornet in the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association district band held at Philipsburg this year and first chair solo cornet in the Huntin°-don Huntin°-don County Band held in Mount Union in March. Frederick is entering entering the Cincinnati Conservatory Conservatory of Music this Summer where he will continue his study of the cornet under Dr. Frank Simon, head of the band department at the Conservatory. Members of the brass sextet are Frederick Cunningham, cornet; John Clark, cornet; Edward Harshbarger, French horn; John Albrecht, trombone; Thomas Somers, baritone horn; Charles Smyers, Sousaphone. Edward Harshbarger was first chair second second French horn in the P. M. E. A. District Band at Philipsburg-.
