Roller Derby Is Set For City Center The Bay Bombers and the Jolters will bring the thrills and excitement of the Roller Derby to the Tucson Commu- nity Center Aug. 24 and Aug. .25 at 8 p.m. . The Bombers, leading the , current International Roller Derby League pennant race by a slim margin over the Jol- ters, features Coach Charlie O'Connell, Delores Tucker, girl's captain, Tony Romand -and Carol Meyer, high scorers. Other Bomber frontliners are Margie Laszlo, Cliff Butler and Gil Orozco. The Jolters are headed by Larry Smith and Francien . Cochu. One of their most popular performers is Ann Calvello. Roller Derby, now enjoying the greatest success in its 37-year history, is seen weekly on 140 television stations. The Bombers, who will skate as home team in the Tuscon games, are the most successful in the league's history, with eight titles in the last 13 seasons. Servicemen and children under 16 who are with adults will be admitted for half price to Jhe Thursday night game.
