Lin-denhurst, a Lees-burg, Gen-dreau, DeJar-din VINCENT F. APPLEGATE, so, of BRADLEY BEACH, died Sunday in Neptune. He was an iron worker at Park Steel and Iron Co., Neptune City, for 38 years, retiring several years ago. He attended the Church of the Ascension, Bradley Beach, and was a member of the Bradley Beach Fire Department since 1952, serving as chief in 1968. He was president of the Bradley Independent Independent Fire Company for many years, and had also served as treasurer of the Exempt Fireman's Association and the Bradley Beach Fire Department Department Relief Association. He was founder and chairman of the annual fund drive for the Bradley Beach Fire Department. Born in Bradley Beach, he was a lifelong' resident . there. Hfs wife, Margaret M. Truax Ap-plegate, Ap-plegate, Ap-plegate, died in 1998. Surviving are two daughters, Karen Barchman of Las Vegas, and Linda S. Pellegrino of Brick; two sisters, Mary E. Apple-gate Apple-gate Apple-gate of Bradley Beach, and Catherine Catherine Hurley of Brick; and four grandchildren, grandchildren, Jennifer, Cara, Nicole and Daniel. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at O'Brien Funeral Home, Route 35 at New Bedford Road, Wall. Funeral services will be held 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Interment Interment will follow in Hamilton Cemetery, Neptune.
